4.0 out of 5 stars Bakes a great loaf of bread
I bake a loaf of bread generally every week, and this is the first loaf pan I reach for. It is especially flexible, more so than some other brands I have picked up in stores, but this is not really a bad thing. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not 100% Silicone, problems!
I got the Wilton set, with muffin pan, cake pan, loaf pan. The first time I used it, the smell from the oven was overwhelmingly sickening, very chemical. I thought it was because I hadn't washed it first. After washing, it was the same. As soon as it heats up in the oven, it starts to STINK. 2.0 out of 5 stars Not 100% Silicone, problems!, January 1, 2008
This review is from: Wilton Easy Flex Silicone 9 Inch by 5 Inch Loaf Pan (Kitchen)
SO I did some searching on the internet - quickly found out that you really want silicone bakeware that is 100% silicone. Cheaper brands use plastic fillers which causes the odor during baking. Turns out you can tell easily by twisting a bit of the silicone - if it turns whitish, it's got plastic fillers. Pure silicone will retain it's color. The Wilton immediately turns whitish when twisted. The smell while it's hot is just nasty. I'll be returning these today - I may exchange for a higher quality and give silicone another chance. ALSO - note that silicone is NOT non-stick - it is stick resistant but the manufacturers all still recommend greasing. Wilton says it clearly on their website.

4.0 out of 5 stars Bakes a great loaf of bread, June 9, 2007

I bake a loaf of bread generally every week, and this is the first loaf pan I reach for. It is especially flexible, more so than some other brands I have picked up in stores, but this is not really a bad thing. Just keep in mind that a lot of the time your loaf of bread will want to expand in the oven, and with this loaf pan that means it will expand somewhat to the sides as well. Personally I like how this works, I end up with a loaf of bread that rounds outwards on the sides, kind of like a cylinder.

It is very much nonstick and releasing your baked goods is no problem, plus it goes from oven temperature to room temperature in a snap which makes for easy handling, and cleanup is a snap. Overall this is highly recommended.

5.0 out of 5 stars Works great, easy to clean, November 17, 2009

I love this product. It works great and is easy to clean. Just be sure you place it on a hard surface in the oven or else the sides will bow out a little and made a wonky shaped loaf.

5.0 out of 5 stars Non stick wonder, May 7, 2010

Since going completely vegan and using no free fats, my bread wasn't coming out of my regular bread pans. It really was messy and I was very frustrated until I remembered seeing silicone baking pans at Costco. I looked and found them at Amazon and ordered six pans. The first time I tried them I had them separately placed in the oven as normal but because they aren't as sturdy, the sides bulged out. Now I place them with sides touching each other for support and they work great. The bread comes out easily and I'm happy again! And the whole wheat bread is just delicious!

5.0 out of 5 stars Love 'em!, June 22, 2011
This review is from: Wilton Easy Flex Silicone 9 Inch by 5 Inch Loaf Pan (Kitchen)
I bought this to use in my toaster oven. We live in Texas and I try to use the toaster oven whenever possible in the summer. I bought this as well as the square cupcake holders and muffin pan. I sat it on my small cookie sheet to give it a stable bottom. The square cupcake liners work great on the small cookie sheet (the reason I bought square...figured they would end up that way anyway ;-) I have made meatloaf in the loaf pan several times now and have not had a problem with any discoloration despite the cooking spray, grease, etc. Cleaned up and looked like new! Washed up in the dishwasher just fine.

Silicone is the only way to go. This is my second bread pan. I was using a glass pan and the bread kept sticking to the bottom so I decided to buy a second silicone pan to avoid future frustration and ruined bread. I highly recommend silicone bake ware. I also have a silicone bundt pan & cupcake pan. Baking is so much easier!

Exactly what I wanted. I love these pans. Breads fall right out, perfectly done. Meat loaf cleans right up. No need to "let it soak". They're great!

4.0 out of 5 stars good for no-knead dough recipes, August 29, 2009
This review is from: Wilton Easy Flex Silicone 9 Inch by 5 Inch Loaf Pan (Kitchen)
I am a fan of the no-knead bread dough that let the yeast do all the work. Such dough tends to be very wet & sticky. This product is excellent for use with such doughs for obvious reasons. Recommended.
