2.0 out of 5 stars Worst Muffin Pan Ever!! May 5, 2012
I've been using Wilton products for years and usually their quality is acceptable. This muffin pan however, isn't. If you take a close look at the blow up you will notice that rather than being pressed out of a solid piece of aluminum, like the decades old model in my kitchen, this much newer model is formed in several pieces - a top and then 12 separately formed cups. Look carefully and you'll see a fine crack right around the top where the cups join the top.

You'll see it even better if you bake in it. Yesterday I produced the contents of a bake sale for Relay For Life in about 3 hours after my daughter forgot to buy vanilla the night before. In the process I used every muffin pan in the house. Today I got around to washing it all. The antique all-in-one piece version is immaculate and back in the cupboard, ready to bake. This Wilton pan has a fine line of embedded grit/grease/chocolate batter permanently embedded in that crack. Non-stick or not, it is miserable to clean.

I know that Wilton is not the only muffin tin maker who has taken to this bright idea. Move heaven and earth to find a one-piece muffin tin, even if you must pay three times the price. You'll save every penny in aggravation!

4.0 out of 5 stars muffin and cupcake delight March 16, 2012

I have had muffin tins before, they always seemed to burn the bottoms of my cupcakes, I realize that my finished product, no matter how good the recipe, is only going to be as good as the equipment I use. This is why I tend to buy trusted brands, and one of the big names in baking is Wilton, there is a reason for this, they make great products.

The muffin pan doesn't look nonstick, it's shiny, not the usual dark color I associate with nonstick, but the muffins fall right out of it with no problem. The shiny surface also solves some baking issues that are associated with darker colors, like baking at to high a temperature and too much heat retention (sometime look on cake boxes, they have you lower the temperature of the oven for dark baking pans)

Note, although the directions say you can wash it in a dishwasher, they tell you that you should hand wash.

4.0 out of 5 stars They ain't sticking! July 20, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase
I bought this pan to replace a low-end, supposedly non-stick pan which no longer was working, which has generally been my experience with the very cheap pans I've used. I've used the Wilton pan just a few times but so far so good. I am particularly pleased that it released blueberry muffins twice already, because of the muffins I bake, those have tended to be the most problematic so far as sticking to pans. Sure, there were some darkened blueberries left in the cups but they cleaned up easily. You can see my photo of the pan - and the blueberry muffins! - under customer photos. I'm giving this 4 stars now only because I want to see how it continues to perform over time.

It has a great nonstick surface, and after making chocolate muffins, if cleaned up very well. I was very surprised at how just running water over it cleaned it.
