Product Description

Specially formulated to remove the sweaty smell from synthetic fabrics, especially technical apparel used for running, cycling, yoga, tennis, soccer, football and other sports. The residues in sweat bond to synthetic fabrics differently than they do to natural fabrics, so regular detergents are not effective at removing those residues. Win's special formula is optimized for synthetics, removing the resides and getting the smell out. Win is color safe, septic safe and biodegradable. It is safe for all types of fabrics although optimized for synthetics.

This product has always worked really well for me. Even if soaking in vinegar works just as well, considering the amount of loads each bottle of this detergent covers, it's still probably more cost-effective than soaking in a pan of vinegar. Not to mention a lot easier and neater.

One tip of advice I have is to never order a single bottle of this product, always the 2-pack. The single bottle orders come packaged by Amazon in a standard box, so it's a gamble on whether it will arrive beaten-up and leaking or not. But the 2-packs come in the factory packaging from Win, which is form-fitting. So the chances of a leak are severely reduced.

I noticed some of my dri-fit garments (mainly shirts, cap, and skullcap) weren't getting completely clean when washing with regular detergent. The clothes would seem clean but once I started working out with them they started to smell funky. I did some research and decided to try both this product and Sport Suds Detergent, 500g Zipper Pouch, 40+ Loads.

The Win detergent did a great job of revitalizing some of my "broken" shirts. That funky lingering smell from my running cap was finally gone!

For me, both products work well. I like the smell of Win (whereas the Sports Suds has no scent). Some people might find it overly "perfume-y". It's all personal preference.

I only wish the bottles weren't so small because they don't last very long. Use sparingly (i.e. do smaller loads washing only your active wear) or buy multiple bottles. But the product itself is great! I highly recommend this product for anyone who wears tech/polyester workout clothes, such as Nike Dri-Fit or Under Armour products.

I've done several reviews in the past for the detergents that get the stink out of exercise clothing, jackets, etc. This Win was my preferred brand for the application. It still is, I haven't found a better alternative. The only few negatives are 1) some may not like the scent, 2) hard to find locally, and 3) the cost is higher than pretty much any other detergent readily available.

UPDATE 9/24/2013: I have noticed typically it may not be the washer that can cause scents/smells on clothing but the dryer. I have seen numerous products in retail to "clean" the washer of smells and odor but nothing for the dryer. The general assumption by the manufacturers are that everything that goes into the dryer is clean and odor-free. This is because a majority of the washing detergents contain a scent/perfume. Also, with all the perfumed dryer sheets, the manufacturers probably figure all is well. For our family, it is different. We use non-dyed, non-perfumed washing detergent. We also use scent free dryer sheets.

I have performed a test and determined it was our dryer adding a smell to the clean clothes. Try this - wash a load with a non-scented detergent, take a couple clothing out and hang dry in another room/area. Dry the rest of the load with a non-scented dryer sheet. I specified non-scented to avoid any cover up of odors/scents on clothing. Hang up a couple dryer dried clothing, next day compare the hanged dried vs dryer dried. Do a smell test with the dryer clothing vs hang dried clothing. It is best to compare under garment clothing like t-shirts as they are closest to our body and absorb the most body odor, etc. You will know easily if the dryer is adding additional smells or not.

Love this stuff. I hate doing laundry and having it come out like it needs a 2nd wash. Stumbled across this in an Amazon search and read the reviews and thought it was worth a try. Great performance on my work clothes. Pulled out (minor) grease/oil stains that I didn't pretreat even. Clothes looks great, no color effect. Very pleased with this purchase. Seller is great and provided a quick shipment.

Some of these sports detergents smell so loudly that you'd never know whether the clothes were clean or not. This one is the least smelly I have found and it really does take the funk out of workout clothes. I like the pour spout too - like a standard liquid laundry soap bottle it allows liquid to go back into the bottle instead of running down the side.
Great stuff!

First of all, this product is very expensive for what you get. Don't be fooled by the picture, that is a *tiny* bottle of detergent. Second, it is quite a bit easier to do better with cheaper materials. I have exercise clothes that have to sit 3, sometimes 4 days before I can get to washing them. This was the motivation for me trying this product. Unfortunately, after washing with Win, some of my clothes still retained their smell even right out of the wash. I tried using less detergent (as recommended by various online sources), more detergent, it didn't matter. This does work ok for most synthetic fabrics, but not all.

My recommendation, before you try this very expensive product, is to go get a big container of the cheapest detergent you can find (I use Sun, about 5 bucks for 100+ loads) and a box of Borax (about 4 bucks), which is a detergent enhancer. One cup of detergent and 1/2 cup of Borax, and my clothes come out of the wash with ZERO smell (other than the detergent fragrance). If you have sensitive skin and are afraid of the fragrance like I am due to skin reactions, my dermatologist recommends simply doing an extra rinse cycle. My clothes have been odor free ever since trying this approach.
