I bought this book for my husband. On the weekend we had a "date" and he actually cooked! It was great not having to be the one to cook or answer his questions while he tried to figure out a recipe. The meal turned out terrific and the wine and music were great accompaniments.

I've given this book to several guy friends and they've loved it! It's really funny, lots of guy-speak, but with some great recipes and some really good ideas for the dating-challenged male. The recipes are from a woman who's a personal chef to some celebs in LA, but they're easy to follow even if defrosting is all the cooking you do. The book also has this cool section on great dinner date music, so even if you do defrost something, the background music will make her think you're a classy dude.

Take it from me, this book delivers exactly what it promises! It is well written, easy to follow, witty and clear. Congratulations to the authors!

Definitely worthy of graduation gift.

Fantastic book and it's not just for men! Great for beginners who need clear, entertaining instructions, and also perfect for people comfortable in the kitchen who want to put together something delicious with a little flare. I love how it packages together the whole meal - from start to finish, including wine and music, which makes the whole experience complete.

Just got my copy, and can't wait to try out some of the dinners. Am also enthusiastic about the wine tips as I know very little about that.

Whether as a gift for a guy friend that is single or for a boyfriend or husband who likes to cook or would like to know how, this book should be number one on the list. From very easy layman's term breakdowns of every recipe inside to what type and pics of music to play, or not to play at dinner, this book has it all!

Great basic information for stocking your kitchen, easy to follow recipes, a wonderful and varied selection of wines and music...and if that's not enough just sit down and read the book. The writing is funny, irreverent, and will have you laughing I guarantee. Follow these simple rules, and you will win whoever you want with dinner (her, him, or them)1

Used this book on my first date with a girl I badly needed to impress. Worked like a charm! She was so effusive about my cooking abilities -- sounded not unlike Dick Vitale. If you own zero cookbooks, buy this one first.
