Pellet Gun
Excellent gun. Heavy, well made, and up to the task. Not a child's toy, that's for sure.

Nice Air Rifle
Accuracy has been very good. Single pump is the way to go. I have killed a squirrel and some other small varmints. I had a problem with the screws coming loose and falling out in the front part of the stock. When I tried to tighten them enough, they stripped. Threadlock helped but eventually had to re-tap the holes and use larger screw with threadlock. Lot of...

Want a REAL pellet gun backed by a reliable gun maker? Well, this is it!
CAUTION: NOT A TOY! It shot through a 3/4" board at 30 feet! I was amazed! Only one nitpick; you will need a strong arm to steady it; it is not light weight.

I bought mine at Kmart in mid to late 2009, when they were closing them out on clearance for 75% off.
These air rifles are MADE IN TURKEY. The stocks are solid wood (not some cheap plastic like most air rifles produced in china). The distance and power of these rifles are amazing. As other reviewers mentioned, THESE ARE NOT TOYS! A few FYI: 1. the FPS on these are close to the breakpoint of what you would want in an air rifle. You have to test various pellets to find which are most accurate. I think the flat nosed worked best for me. [Note: I had a winchester 800X air rifle, almost identical to this 1000 model. Was more accurate than this one, as the FPS muzzle velocity was less. Wasn't so picky about pellet types]. 2. scopes - be sure to get one for this type of rifle. There is a bit of a kick with this 1000 model, since it is a single stroke, spring compression design. AVOID using an el cheapo air file scope or .22 caliber scope. A couple friends with this same rifle tried the cheap 15 -20 dollar scopes and the optics inside broke loose due to the kick of this rifle. 3. The break barrel cocking takes a fair amount of strength. Make sure you don't try to shove the barrel end against the ground and use your body weight to force the gun to cock. Could mess up your sights. |
