FROM MYTHICAL GUNSLINGER TO HOLLYWOOD MISINTERPRETATION,
By A Customer
This review is from: Winchester Affidavit (Hardcover)
Winchester Affidavit is an epic historical novel filled with passion, romance and suspense as G. G. Boyer takes the reader back to the days of the New Mexico Territory and the Amarillo War. The Amarillo Grant was a vast estate owned by a Dutch financier. The estate manager, Lord Ransom, must make good his position -- he's engaged to the owner's daughter. To that end his segundo leads a group of night riders known as the Whitecaps, who use murder and mayhem to clear the grant of "squatters". These include native peoples, homesteaders, and Anglo ranchers, the largest of which is Cleve Bandelier, Former cavalry officer and widowed father of two, Bandelier leads the group that the Dutch syndicate would dispossess in a battle against corruption, terrorism, and brute force. G. G. Boyer's Winchester Affidavit demonstrates a story-telling talent reminiscent of such masters of the Old West as Zane Grey, Max Brand, and Louis Lamour. BY MIDWEST BOOK REVIEW
