The flex light is great for reading in the dark, it's a little heavy so you need to hook about 50 pages into the clip to get it to stay on the book (not a problem if you're reading hard cover). And while I haven't used it for this yet, it will be amazing for working on computers, or in other small metallic spaces, it's got a magnet in the base so you can attach it to the bottom of your case and move the light around. It's really bright, almost too bright when reading, but good for other work. It uses button batteries (the little round disk ones) so it'll be simi-expensive to replace those (cheaper to buy a new flashlight) but they'll last pretty long, especially with an LED.

The big flashlight is ok, nothing really special. It's only a single LED, so it's not that bright, but it works well enough for one person (it's not really bright enough to light up a path for several people walking side-by-side). Because of the lens they have in there it limits the wide angle of the LED into a bright circle, so it's not like a bulb where it's bright in the center then fades as it moves the five feet towards the edge of the light circle. Holding the flashlight about three feet off the ground make about a ten inch circle of light. So like I said, enough for one person walking, or for use around the home or in a tent or something. My only real problem with it is the on/off button is basically flush with the case, so it's hard find the button to turn the thing on when you can't see it.

Totally worth the money.

The lights are small, but seem to run for a long time off of a set of batteries. The larger light gives a very definite circle of fairly even light, making it great for medium distances. The smaller light (with a magnet) makes it easy to do things that are close at hand.

I bought this at a special price and wish I had purchesed two. The flex light is invaluable.

The flexi-light is great -- well made, bright, and even though I probably couldn't read under it for long, it's a cool toy. The big flashlight is a piece of junk I wouldn't pay $1 for. It works, but it is not bright and feels cheap.

For $4 it might be worth it just to get the flexi-light, but for anything more I'd recommend finding a better flashlight in the 1-watt $20 range.

The light has a blue ring to it. But it does cast a bright light for a small flashlight.
