The essential reference for serious Model 42 collectors,
This review is from: The Winchester Model 42 (Hardcover)
The Model 42 is not a small Model 12. This special gun is a completely unique firearm that is often misunderstood and misinterpreted. If you own or are interested in collecting the Model 42 then this is probably the primary book that you will want in your hands to guide you through the confusion. When trying to learn the details of the Model 42 you will find many Winchester collectors who all have opinions about the history, special features and the authenticity of this gun but if you want documented facts you will want to consult the information in this book. Lots of great pictures especially of special order features and options, of which the Model 42 had a very large percentage produced. I have read and studied and consulted this book many times over the past several years after acquiring several special order Model 42's including 2 factory engraved and 2 very rare Pigeon Grade's.
