This review is from: A Wind in Africa: A Story of Modern Medicine in Mali (Hardcover)
This is a highly readable memoir of life and work in Mali. The author was a medical expert with the US Agency for International Development, but the book reflects his wide-ranging interest in all aspects of Malian life and culture. Indeed Imperato (more recently a distinguished public health official and professor in New York) has written widely on many aspects of this fascinating country -- to the point where he deserves an honorary degree for it. Highly recommended for anyone travelling to or working in Mali.
