This is delightful and invigorating music to listen and enjoy.
It is light, yet sensual, and very refreshing. It is well played by current and former principal players of the Chicago Symphony. These selections are from neglected yet virtuostic performances by contemporarys of Mendelssohn, i.e. Molique and Moscheles. The starter is a wonderful duet concerto for two flutes, here played by Klein on the oboe as the second flute. There intonation, dynamics and phrasing is impressive, smooth and dynamic! These brilliant, charming and refreshing to the ear early Romantic compositions will delight.

I have been a regular subscriber to the cedille label since it started. I recommend supporting it. This disc is outstanding, even for Cedille. This is all supposed to be minor league music by B-list composers, but you'd never know it just by listening. They must have been real competition for Mozart, Schubert, et al. Why aren't all these guys rock stars?
