Product Description

A favorite of healers and body workers, the music of Wind and Mountain is specifically designed to help you let go of unconscious tension and lead you into a space of inner stillness. Peaceful, slow, frequencies and revitalizing high notes are orchestrated into a sweeping musical experience.

Biography

Born in postwar Germany, Deuter taught himself the guitar, the flute, harmonica and just about every instrument he could get his hands on, though it wasn't until after a near-fatal car crash in his early twenties that he decided to pursue a career in music. His first release in 1970, simply entitled D, was to become a modernist classic. D marked the beginning of Deuter's spiritual and ... Read more in Amazon's Deuter Store

I really enjoy most of Deuter's music for massage therapy and relaxing.

Also right inbetween the speakers is a critical area...try putting a Soji Screen there...or experiment.

The music was so soothing, so refreshing and invigorating, but relaxing.

A friend was moving and gave us a bunch of old CDs she didn't want. We went through them one by one. When we put this one in, we were immediately entranced. The music was so soothing, so refreshing and invigorating, but relaxing. We started fighting over who would get to take it to work. :-)
This is my favorite CD ever. If I could only keep one CD, this would be it. Do yourself a favor and get this CD. It's perfect for relaxing, focusing, meditating, yoga, or sleeping.
We've bought about 5 other Deuter CDs since chancing upon this one, and this is the best!
PS When the friend heard me playing this CD at work, she said, "That's the most beautiful music! Where did you get it from?" She grinned sheepishly when I told her, she had never listened to it before giving it to me!

I can't decide which of these CDs I like better: Deuter's Wind & Mountain or Deuter's Earth Blue. When I was pregnant, I was looking for relaxing music to labor to and I found Deuter's music at Amazon.com. I am SOOOOO glad that I found his music, because now whenever I hear those soothing sounds I am immediately taken back to those precious first days with my beautiful daughter. We played these CDs non-stop the following days in the hospital while I recovered and when the doctor came in the room, he said to me, "This is the most relaxing hospital room I've ever been in. I don't want to leave!"

Lately I've taken to playing them in the car. I've found them to be a wonderful way to have an enjoyable relaxing trip. What a great way to fight stressful TRAFFIC! I can't recommend these CDs enough. I'm on Amazon tonight looking for more to add to my "Wish List."

I have a dedicated listening room set up for high-end audio listening. Believe it or not - the better the system you have and the better set up your listening environment is - the better this CD will get, and not just for relaxing. If you have a Hi-end audio system you owe it to yourself to buy this CD, Deuter has done a fantastic job using not only his talent at relaxing music, but also sound dynamics, soundstage and definition of instruments throughout that soundstage (imaging). It is an absolute joy to listen to. I would suggest getting a good basic understanding of speaker set up: you in one corner of a triangle...and the speakers in the other two. With the speakers several feet from the walls on each end. So you are directly between them and the tweeters are at ear level. Most people put the stereo equipment right inbetween the two speakers. Also right inbetween the speakers is a critical area...try putting a Soji Screen there...or experiment. You will be shocked, at how altering this area will change the sound. This is obviously just the basics, but if you do a basic system set up you can start to experiencing the 3D like effects that Audiophiles find so magical......and this CD is perfect for that. The CD recording quality is also very good too. Of Deuters work that I have heard so far I would recommend this the highest. I have not heard everything yet, and though his music tends to all be at a high level, this recording is definitely special. Check it out and go into audio bliss! Others then to find are Nosso Nosso by Alex Farhoud, Ecclesia by James Twyman, Oriental Sunrise by Riley Lee, and "life in balance".

This is my favorite CD, and has been since I bought it. My husband and I often go to sleep at night to it. If I have had a particularly stressful day, I play it - usually fall asleep before the first cut is over, and wake during the last cut completely refreshed. I've since purchased extra copies as gifts to friends; one with fibromialgia uses it as I do when in need of stress release. It's such a beautiful experience. I've been a fan of Deuter's for years, but this is, in my opinion, the best he's done.

My mother got me this CD for Christmas. I use it for background music in Tai Chi classes I teach, and also to relax in my office at work. The music is soothing, yet uplifting. I feel happier after listening to it. I especially like the parts that feature bell sounds.

I'm not a big fan of lots of New Age music, and I, like another reviewer, found this somewhat by accident. But the combination of flute and bell just...makes me float every time I listen to it. My breath slows down and I feel at peace. Gorgeous.

"There is a veritable plethora of excellent healing music CD's available in the modern digital world. A rather high percentage of the best is by Deuter, a true master of the art. 'Wind and Mountain: Music for Healing and Relaxation' is one of his more diverse efforts. Using a wide array of acoustic, electric and electronic instruments, he has created pockets of warm ambience and gentle textures. The symphonic timbres add panache and verve to the set. This grand soundscape will appeal to fans of Kitaro, Anugama, Vangelis and Yanni. ~ Jim Brenholts, All Music Guide" [refers to 1998 release by The Relaxation Co., Inc. label]
