5.0 out of 5 stars Great rechargeable flashlight
Since I won this flashlight and had nothing to lose I took this light out for a drive to a concert. The venue was about an hour away and I left the flashlight on (the three bulbs) the entire way up. My girlfriend, who was navigating, used it the entire way there to see the handwritten directions. I left the flashlight on during the concert for a total of about 5 hours...

3.0 out of 5 stars Limited strong light output hurts usefulness
This product is handy and well made, but its light output weakens so quickly that its usefulness is quite limited. My flashlight will produce about two minutes of quite strong light, followed by a long stretch of 'night light' strength that doesn't do much good at all. If I had to do it over again, I'd try another brand.

My girlfriend, who was navigating, used it the entire way there to see the handwritten directions. I left the flashlight on during the concert for a total of about 5 hours. When we came back to the car the light was dim but with hand cranking, as the directions specified, the light came back to life. I plan on buying these for my relatives as gifts.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good item worth buying, February 18, 2007

I ordered and received this WIND-N-GO FLASHLIGHT in November of 2006 to have on hand when the power goes out and to use when going camping, etc..
When I got it I wound it up to check it out and found The light emitted is adequete for this type of flashlight. I did not leave it on to see how long it would stay lit so I do not know how long it will stay lit with a charge.
I put It away and after 3 months I got it out to check it and it was still holding a charge from the first time I cranked it.
So for a emergency flashlight to have around for the occasions you might need one, I would recommend it. No worry about batteries going dead like regular flashlights that sit around. So I think I will order a couple more.

5.0 out of 5 stars The BEST flashlight to have!, October 4, 2007
This review is from: Wind 'N Go Flashlight (Sports)
Wind it for a minute, it lasts for an hour. A bright light with a wide view. No batteries to deal with. I have bought 7 of these so far! Keep one in my car for emergencies, one in my nightstand in the bedroom, one in the kitchen drawer, etc. Great when the power goes out. Great for going on nighttime walks. I have bought many flashlights (LED also) in the last few years. They don't compare to this one!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Reasonably bright, simple to use, June 29, 2008

I use this every day when I take the dogs outside in the dark, and it works reliably. It's fairly compact and can be put in your pocket. I was using a different LED flashlight before, one that you shake, and it was not bright enough. The Wind 'N Go flashlight is much brighter than the old LED flashlight, not quite as bright as a Maglite flashlight, but not having to replace batteries in the Wind 'N Go is a nice trade-off.

The crank is easy to turn. It is a little noisy when being cranked.

It has one button operation, which is simple but a little quirky. Each time it is turned on, it either lights one LED for power saving, or it lights three LEDs for more brightness. It alternates between the two modes, so if it turns on in the wrong mode, you have to turn it off and on again. If you always want to use it in one mode, you have to turn it on and off and on each time you use it.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great Product!, November 26, 2008

I rarely use flashlights, so I usually forget to change their batteries; as a result, on the rare occasion that I actually need them, they're useless. If you're like me, buy this flashlight! I just threw mine in a drawer, and a few weeks ago when the lights went off, it was ready. Winding it up for use is very easy, you can do it while you're using it. And once it's been wound, it lasts for a long time; I used mine for hours.

The only downside is that it's not especially bright, but it's good enough for casual use. I highly recommend it for everyone, just toss it on your car or a drawer in your house and forget about it. You'll never have to worry about remembering to change the batteries again.

5.0 out of 5 stars Functional Flashlight. Outstanding Service, October 21, 2008

Following the windstorm from Hurricane Ike that knocked out our power for 5 days I vowed to never be dependent on a drawer full of batteries. I purchased 2. My son broke the handle of one in the first 48 hours. I requested a new handle from Wind'N Go, and within days they replaced the entire unit and apologized for the inconvenience.
Light works very well up to about 50' in 3 LED mode. Single is adequate to read a map or other simple close up tasks. Holds a charge well. Well designed.

At first i thought this would be really cool. Unfortunately, the gears inside are not put together tightly enough, causing them to skip. Eventually, the crank stops cranking cause the teeth are all stripped.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wind and Go review, April 26, 2008
This review is from: Wind 'N Go Flashlight (Sports)
This product works as advertised. Very easy to wind, stays lit for hours and, surprisingly, remained lit when I used it several days later (without winding). All in all very useful.

This review is from: Wind 'N Go Flashlight (Sports)
I bought one of these just to make certain it worked well enough for emergency use. Worked great and bought 3 of them. We keep one near our night stand in the house, daughter has one and I have one in an emergency tool/first aid kit i carry in my truck and boat. Great product.... Great for the kids as you dont need to buy batts ;-)
