5.0 out of 5 stars exciting Indian romance, January 31, 2010
This review is from: Wind Warrior (Mass Market Paperback)
In 1859 in the Montana Wilderness, Blackfoot warriors led by Dull Knife capture thirteen year old Marianna Bryant. Dull Knife's brother recently renamed Wind Warrior after being called He-Who-Waits is attracted to the captive called Rain Song especially her courage and her adaptation to the tribal lifestyle. He knows she is his future mate, but is careful as his people know he is ordained to one day become their leader.

Envious with ire Dull Knife hates his sibling who he feels has not earned the adulation of the Council and the rest of the tribe; nor proven he can lead as prophesied because he believes Wind Warrior is too compassionately weak to kill their enemies. When Dull Knife claims Rain Song as his squaw, the sibling rivalry ignites to the point they endanger the tribe.

This is an exciting Indian romance starring a brave heroine and the two brothers who compete over everything including her. The story line is fast-paced yet provides a deep look at life in a Montana Blackfoot village. Fans will enjoy this engaging historical romantic triangle as Constance O'Banyon brings alive her villagers during the Civil War.

5.0 out of 5 stars Wonderful, December 13, 2010

This review is from: Wind Warrior (Mass Market Paperback)
I have to say it has been nearly 30 years since a novel has grabbed me like this one did. It is a wonderful story of which I found myself caught up in quickly, I actually could not put it down. I have read hundreds and hundreds of books over the years, but few have totally grabbed me as this one did. I was immersed in the telling of it and with the wonderful characters good and evil, I enjoyed the journey. It was so refreshing to me to read a very good story in the historical romance section again, as several years ago I got turned off by romances because many authors were more focused on just sex in their books and forgot how to tell a good story. This has all the elements of a good romance from a wonderful storyteller. Great job Constance, for you create magic in your storytelling, thank you for the delightful journey you created in this one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Touching, innocence, enthralling, March 17, 2011

I did not expect to enjoy this book as the beginning was full of horrific details and hate and one of the characters was a monster. The story changed for the better. It was so full of human compassion, love, desires, innocence. I enjoyed it tremendously. Constance O'Banyon and Madeline Baker are two of my all favorite romance authors.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is not a Janelle Taylor novel, August 29, 2011
This review is from: Wind Warrior (Kindle Edition)
Why is this book featured on Janelle Taylor's page? She does not write under pen names. Where are the rest of Taylor's backlist titles? Why do you have other authors listed on her page? Is this to entice buyers to purchase books they think are written by Taylor under a pen name????? Even though Constance O'Banyon is an excellent writer and a friend of Taylor's.

Rain Song Had long loved Wind Warrior since she first was taken Captive by his brothers raiding party and was given to Tall Women as a gift. He was always there when ever she was in trouble all the while he would tell her things that she didn't understand because she was terrified of the relationship between a man and a women do to what she witness when she was taken captive. As time goes she survives many times when people try to kill her thanks to him. As she grow's into a woman she feels her love for him grow but then becomes very upset when she realizes that he has chosen a wife not realizing that the reason why her mother told her he want to talk to her father since he has not spoken to her in two years and that he has been watching her from a far for years. When he ask's her to be his wife he makes the mistake of telling her that his brother was going to ask as well and not letting her know that he loves her and has for a long time. After they are married his brother dies trying to take her and then she is taken from wind warrior again by soldier's from where she was taken captive. A brave should does what he can to make sure that Wind warrior is able to find his woman and they live happily ever after. I so wanted more on these 2 to see what they go threw as they raise there children by the river and in the mountains they both love so much.
