A great reading,
This review is from: The Wind in the Willows (Junior Classics) (Audio CD)
Mr. Jarvis's reading is superb. This and the excellence of the text made for an enjoyable listening experience for both my son and me. The abridgment is well done.

First of all, it is not Kenneth Grahame that is narrating here. It is Martin Jarvis. Secondly, if you cannot follow the plot line of "Wind in the Willows" you should not be writing reviews of ANYTHING. Good GOD!!! It is a JUNIOR Classic. My only criticism is that it is abridged which I am opposed to on ethical grounds.

I have nothing against the quality of the narration, Gramme does a great job, but I just didn't like the story. It was very difficult to follow, even for me. I tried playing this for my children at night, and afterwards they would always have to ask me what happened. But they kept asking for it again. I never read the book as a kid so that didn't help. I mean I just didn't like that toad character. I will get a CD in the future that is easier for kids to follow. I bought this after it was given a good mention in the National Review Magazine.
