Purchased a few of these when on sale to place in my bedroom. I suffer from severe migraines and one of my 'triggers' is a too-warm, dry atmosphere. I knew these were going to be small, but for their size, they work very well. I like the 2 settings, as well as the small 'night lights'(green when on LOW; blue when on HIGH): and the auto-shut off is perfect. I only wish they were a bit larger and/or lasted longer. I can barely get 3 hours with them on HIGH and perhaps 4.5 hours on LOW...Would like to see them last longer on both settings with a larger capacity. Filling them is easy enough and they fit snugly into the base without much trouble. I don't find them 'spitting' moisture/water on anything, nor have I experienced that white residue that many other humidifiers generate. For the money, this is a nice product and when on sale again, I just may get a few more for the same room rather than a large, hard-to-fill and clean unit. For the money, you can't go wrong, but don't expect one of these to handle a normal-sized room.

Edit: 3-2-10 This past Autumn I purchased another humidifier, larger capacity with similar features, i.e., blue night light, a dial that takes it from low to high and all settings in between, auto shut off, etc. After several attempts to make myself like it, I still don't and prefer the WindChaser much more. The larger one gets everything drenched - sure it has a powerful stream of moisture, but the top of the unit gets water droplets large enough to cascade over the unit onto the bureau. I've had to place plastic trash bags on the bureau and cover those with a thick bath towel just to run the thing for a few hours. If I let it run itself out, I've got a mess to clean up including the white residue. It also doesn't work properly if it isn't exactly balanced evenly on its base; just stops working at will. So, I'm sticking with the WindChaser - best I've found that meets my needs. When I find it on sale you can bet I'm getting a few more! I just noticed that the current price for this unit is $91.and change. Are you serious? For a hunk of plastic no bigger than 2 coffee mugs side by side? I bought 4 of these originally and would never have paid that price! I didn't pay $91 for all 4 of mine combined. Something must be wrong here.

It's the perfect humidifier to travel with or to keep on your desk while you're working. The downside is that the capacity is fairly low. However, the previous reviewer is wrong about the 4.5 hour limit. I kept the humidifier on low and it lasted through 8 hours of sleep.

Here's why I won't give it 5 stars. I received the humidifier and it didn't work. It turned on but wouldn't create any mist. Also, there was a broken piece of something lying in the unit and I had no idea what it was for. It also had this greasy feeling and it felt like it was refurbished. I had to return it and wait a few weeks for a replacement. I just got the replacement, and the "LOW" button was broken off and lying in the box. I have to conclude that they're a bunch of bums working in this company selling these products, and I have no way to tell whether this supposedly new product is refurbished or not.

But the unit works, and it's shooting mist in my face right now while I'm at my desk, and I have no complaints for the time being. It should certainly serve me well in those horribly dry hotel rooms in the future. I should add that one minor inconvenience is that sometimes it just stops working because the water stops flowing, and you have to shake it to let more water down into the basin and then it'll start again.

At our bedside this unit works perfectly! Don't expect it to take care of a large area, but for beside your chair or bed it's perfect!

It works well, one filling lasts a night. It will leave some mist on the floor. It is easy to use.

Bought one just to see the performance. The cigarette adapter sold me. I have a small off grid solar power system that can handle DC appliances (ones that plug into a cigarette lighter socket). And at 13.5 W of energy consumption, it's a great humidifier for my greenhouse and orchids. Great for my office also.

Very worth the money. I use it every night as a night light and humidifier.

For such a small humidifier this keeps the air fresh and humidified. It is great in a cubical or small office space. For in the home it would be helpful in the bedroom on a night stand so that you get the moisture you need while you are sleeping. For those suffering with allergies and sinus troubles during winter, having this near you will help.

I was surprised when I recieved it because it is SOO small. It should say portable. It is really meant for a small space like an office or car
