Windchimes have become sophisticated and popular in recent years. This CD is not a catalogue of the wide variety of sounds of the up-scale windchimes now available. Instead, it gives the feeling of taking a long walk through a neighborhood and hearing the constant rush of wind and repetitive sound of pretty much the same chimes. They're not the very high-pitched, tinkly kinds of chimes, and they're a little bit minor in tone. Birds sing and caw in the background at times. It's because of this CD's very repetitiveness and lack of sophistication that I like it a lot. I find it to be like meditating.

Ha! But everyone projects something different onto various sounds and CD's I guess. I grew up in a windy area (the high desert in southern California) and this sounds like the windy afternoons/evenings blowing through the windchimes hanging on our back patio to me. Just takes me back .....

The jacket describes this CD as, "Relax while listening to gusty winds intertwined with the beautiful songs of birds and distant thunder." I heard no birds nor thunder. I heard ocean surf. The overpowering sound of surf and behind that, the faint tinkle of chimes. I have a cd filled with ocean surf sounds, I don't need another. I would have been happier if the chimes were louder and the surf was quieter. Stay away from this CD unless you want to listen to the ocean.

Terrible sound! Throughout the entire disc, there is a constant hiss, like you would find on a cassette tape. This makes it nearly impossible to believe I'm listening to real windchimes. It seems like they recorded this on some low-quality tape equipment and then transferred it to CD.

Really, these environmental CDs are only worthwhile if they are fully digital recordings (DDD) or have NO hiss at all.

Stay away.

I borrowed this from the library on a lark, then ended up liking it so much that I bought a copy. From my perspective, it's perfect: no music, just windchimes and ocean, couple of birds along the way. Very relaxing and comforting. I don't have that discerning an ear, so the sound quality is more than good enough for me. Played on both PC and CD boombox, with earphones and without, without experiencing the hissing mentioned by previous reviewer.

Too much in our daily lives leads to stress. This inexpensive cd will help you relax and become one with yourself.

I love this CD I have wind chimes in my back yard and when I can I leave the window open. the wind chimes are very relaxing . So I decided to try a CD of wind chimes . I have a few. This is the best one. I listen to it with headphones and I never make it to the end of the CD before I fall asleep.Very relaxing

This comes from a Stressed Out Fibromyalgia Small Business Owner---so, let me say, if you love ocean sounds & wind chimes, this one's for you! The combo of sounds are so spectacular that you will swear you are outside in the fresh air with the tropics all around you embracing your every sense. I can almost feel the gentel breezes. It works for me, might work for you.

If you like to hear the ocean you will love this CD. If you want windchimes do not buy this. Disappointed to say the least. Maybe the Goodwill can sell the CD for something, cause that is where I am sending it.

I got this CD in a set with 9 others, and this is by far my favorite. I play it all day at work (for the stress relief) and the windchimes are subtle. Being Irish, of course I love my windchimes! But, it takes you back to sitting on a porch on the seashore, in a rocking chair, the sea breeze stirring the windchimes.
