Editorial Reviews

From Publishers Weekly

The author, who claims to be apprentice to a Canadian medicine woman named Agnes Whistling Elk, has produced five books ( Medicine Woman , etc.) about her quest for spiritual knowledge. Written in the same dreamy, repetitive style, and set in Nepal where Andrews's Amerindian entourage encounters ancient Indian wisdom, this latest entry reads more like a fairy tale than the ethnological fact it purports to be. She meets her tall, well-built, spirit husband Windhorse, who points her toward her androgynous balance of female and male energies within herself. Her hostess-guide Ani turns out to be a guran , one who can manifest herself as a snow leopard at will. A 10-year-old girl's death forces Andrews to face her own mortality. Her Himalayan jaunt is dotted with episodes of crystal power, tears of joy, wise women, rapt visions and talk of healing Mother Earth.

5.0 out of 5 stars Changed my perspective on relationships, August 14, 1997
This review is from: Windhorse Woman: A Marriage of Spirit (Paperback)
This book recounts Lynn's real adventure into her spirit marriage and meetings with other medicine women in Nepal. Her writing style evokes a novel -- but in your heart you KNOW it's real. You KNOW that you chose this book to teach you about yourself and your relationships. It was the first of her books I read, and now I must read THEM ALL. It is the first book I've read about any relationship that gave me a tool to gain peace about my own relationships.

Reading this book was a glorious adventure. Lynn writes with such heartfelt detail one might have the experience of being instantly connected to her. Each time I picked it up to read some I had to practically pry myself away from it. Her experiences which she so vividly shares keep you wanting more and more.

Once you dive into this book it is likely you will question all about you...the book gives light to other dimensions and possibilities of who we are and what we are all really doing here. I delightfully discovered so much about myself in all that she wrote.
