Anyone who misses the Erykah of On & On and Didn't Cha Know will fall in love with Window Seat. Tired of the realities and pressures of everyday life, Badu wants to take a break from it all and get "a ticket outta town/A look around/And a safe touch down", but also yearns to be appreciated and missed back home. "I need you to want me/I need you to miss me/I need your attention, yes/I need you next me/I need someone to clap for me/I need your direction/somebody say come back/come back baby come back/I want you to need me!" Who hasn't felt underappreciated before? Love the mellow, lissome production and Erykah's dreamy vocals. "Come back, come back, baby!"

First I have to say, Thank You! WIndow seat is great !

Window Seat is just what we need, I saw Miss Badu's performance of "Window Seat," on
The Wendy Williams show and it was definitely a very powerful performance. I am glad I watched it. Erykah's performance was the most genuine and the most anticipated performance, i cant wait to see her on tour!

I'm anxiously awaiting the release of New Amerykah Part II on March 30 (maybe, hopefully). Erykah Badu is such an original and soulful artist. Her style and vocals have evolved since Baduizm and with each release I fall more in love with her. She is definitely one of my favorite artists, past or present. Window Seat is the first single from New Amerykah Part II and it doesn't disappoint. The distinct Erykah Badu style is definitely present and you feel her anguish and desire to be adored and wanted. "I need someone to clap for me" is a line that lets you know that she is a human being with feelings and shortcomings. Yet, she needs confirmation and validation. I love the song. As always, she did not disappoint and still I anxiously await New Amerykah Part II's release.

When I first heard the song on the pre-release, I was so excited! This was the first track after quite a while and it certainly didn't disappoint me.
It is probably one of my favorite songs on the album, very soulful, reminds me more of her earlier songs. I feel like this song is me sometimes,
I feel like I know the feeling that Erykah is singing about =) and the video!! omg, i felt a bit strange watching it in the beginning as she was taking her clothes off,
but the end completed the whole idea, which is brilliant.
I think the whole album is very strong representation of herself as an artist and hopefully it will do well. Cant wait to see Erykah Badu live as this is when she shows what she is made of!

PURE SOUL FOOD!

Peace,
chille

Get me a window seat quick for the release of Erykah's new album 'New Amerykah Part Two: Return Of The Ankh'! 'Window Seat' is the first single and a step back in time to Erykah's sound of her 'Baduizm' album. It's laid back, jazzy, immediately comforting & recognizable. The saying 'All that is old, is new again' is certainly true for this song. This is definitely a great thing as far as Erykah is concerned. Her writing partner James Poyser, who has been a large part of shaping her sound, produced and plays keyboards. Another longtime collaborator, Ahmir Khalib '?uestlove' Thompson(of the band The Roots), is on drums & Stephen 'Thundercat' Bruner plays bass. Sit back and enjoy the ride with 'Window Seat'!

"Window Seat"- Erykah Badu's new single from "New Amerykah Part Two" sounds a lot like a song that could have been a part of her first album "Baduizm". The music, the voice and the tempo are reminiscent of the old days but if you listen to the lyrics or watch the video, you will quickly realize that years have passed and the new Erykah is different, older and wiser. She is a lover and a mother and she needs a little time just for herself. But most importantly for us, she is still an amazing musician and "Window Seat" makes you want to wait impatiently for "The Return of Ankh".

While the latter releases of Erykah Badu where dope (Worldwide Underground/ New Amerykah pt 1), you couldnt help but feel as if it was a big experimental thing. Where are the soulful melodies? The tracks that we can REALLY relate to on an emotional level? I think Window Seat is a great transition for the more digital evoked sound that she has had on her past two albums. The flow of the song is smooth and captures badu in a place where u ca imagine her sitting on a porch singing in the middle of a rainstorm. It works for me and has me anticipating the Return of the Ankh!

Erykah Badu has done it again! Her music is always just below the radar of most people but I have been a fan since her first album in the 90's. She just keeps getting better and better. This song, Window Seat, is smooth and relaxing. You are instantly transported to the middle seat right next to Erykah in her window seat. The lyrics are so expressive as with all of her songs. She is just the best singer out here right now and her band is so on-point. I will definately be purchasing her album on itunes when it comes out.
