This review is from: Windows 95 is Driving Me Crazy (Paperback)
As a newby to Windows, I blindly used Windows 95 as Ilearned about the Windows platform. As the weeks passed, so did the quality of the performance of my programs. My CD-ROM was no longer available, my desk top lost things around the edges, and then when I tried to load a free software package from an Internet Service Provider, and had to abort the load, I lost 8 drivers and the platform no longer wanted to load. It was clearly time to stop putting up with this deterioration and start fixing things. A couple of guru's were of no help with the ROM so I took the advice of one and bought this book. I am now well on my way to total recovery and am deeply grateful to Kay Nelson for taking the time to write all of this down for those of us that flounder when encountering the Great God, Windows 95, Ruler of My PC, whether I like it or not. I now feel that I am starting to regain my rightful control of my computer, for the first time in about 8 weeks. I am not used to an operating system that tells me I am not allowed to load things into my computer, even if it is probably good advice. And I will have trouble adjusting to the new world of missing and modified DOS commands. And with Kay's help, I may soon be able to guess where my old and friendly app's programs might have put the file we just created. Yes, Windows 95 has truly been driving me crazy for about 8 weeks, but I am now feeling better, since help has arrived.
