This review is from: Windows Administration at the Command Line for Windows 2003, Windows XP, and Windows 2000: In the Field Results (Paperback)
I have been working with Microsoft-based systems since the early DOS days and have a lot of respect for the command line. I picked up this book to go through scripting options and found the entire book was well written and informative. The early chapters on using commands at the command line is very thorough. I even found some commands I had forgotten about, and discovered some new switches for commands that I regularly use. The scripting chapters are also well written. The introduce you to creating scripts using the old batch files as well as some of the new scripting methods. I would suggest this book to anyone who wants to do more with their systems than just using the good-ole GUI. And for those youngsters who have grown up with the GUI and are not familiar with command line administration, check this out - you will have a new found respect for the Windows OS.
