The book was extremely helpful with CE specific issues.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Windows Ce Developer's Handbook (Paperback)
I found the book to be a great resource for answering some questions that I could not find the answers to anywhere else. I'm porting an existing program from NT/98 to Windows CE and found The Windows CE Developer's Handbook had the most examples and tips for porting out of any of the Windows CE books I've looked at. It saved me a lot of time that I would have spent finding out these issues on my own.

the CE book to have,

This book is an amazing reference! It discusses topics and ideas not covered anywhere else. Plus, it emphasizes issues related to porting from the desktop to CE and some related common mistakes in that area. There's even a great index with code samples for every CE-API function.

The Windows CE Developer's Handbook is a great book for Windows CE Developers. It answers many of those hard to find questions for HPC, Pro's, and PPC devices. Definitely, a great addition to any Windows CE developer's library.

I knew very little about CE when I picked this up. I've had to learn fast because of an upcoming deadline and I've had a very positive experience with this book.

This is a poor Windows CE reference,

I found very little of value in this book. Code samples are few. Much of the book, such as the sections on "choosing your development environment" and "To C or not to C" are worthless to serious Windows CE programmers.Pick up another CE book, such as Robert Burdick's "Essential Windows CE Application Programming."

I wish I could give it less,

This book was such a waste of money... What the back of the book says it will tell you about it only briefly mentions them... There are a lot of better books out there, and this one just happens to be not it.

Forget this book!,

So called Dr.CE doesn't show any important trick used in professional applications. Buy Burdick's CE book instead!
