This review is from: Windows Nt Enterprise Networking (Windows Nt Professional Library) (Paperback)
This book, along with Tony Northrup's Windows NT Plumbing, will put you a step above your other NT peers. Both of these books go into the nitty gritty details of how NT REALLY works in the real world and how best to deploy and configure it.Both are excellent primers on networking and TCP/IP as well as NT specifics. Highly recommended.

Excellent Reference,

I have a nice little library of books that would put a small library to shame, but I find myself connected to a few much like the kid with his favorite teddy bear. Well, this book is like that teddy bear. I carry it 2 miles each day to and from work. Any good book is invaluable to a job/certification. This is one of them!

I read the entire book over the last few weeks and found that is was very helpful in giving me a better understanding of networking. I learned a lot about the basics and a ton about the advanced aspects of NT networking. I found out about how to use key NT tools and the book was a great resource.

Excellent NT Guide,
By A Customer
This review is from: Windows Nt Enterprise Networking (Windows Nt Professional Library) (Paperback)
I don't usually take the time to come back and comment on a book unless it's very bad. In this case the book is way better than I've come to expect from most NT books. There were so many extra topics in the book that I don't think I've seen elsewhere. Important registry setting are listed and explained but not ALL of them (with no explaination) just what is important. I liked the IP Management section and DNS overview. The capacity planning section that somebody else here mentioned was excellent and the tuning and troubleshooting chapter had a great section on problem resolution. It covers a very wide range of topics relating to NT and networking and does it very well.-Tom

Helped me get my MCSE,
By A Customer
This review is from: Windows Nt Enterprise Networking (Windows Nt Professional Library) (Paperback)
I got this book before I started taking the MCSE tests. It really helped me out on the networking and NT workstation/server tests. I've worked with NT for awhile and I found that the book covers most of the things you need to know as long as you also take some practice tests from microsoft. I'm glad I got it when I did!

As a network administrator I am always on the move, and there is always something I have to take care of. I love this book because it gives the answers you're looking for, and the informantion you need in a clear, highly intelligible, and straight-forward manner. These guys know their stuff! If I could I would hire these guys on as my own! The one NT book I keep going back to.

No introductory fluff. No install and configure nonsense to bulk up the book. Great stuff on every page in a concise format. CD is pretty good as well. I knew most of the products but found out about some new ones.

An NT Book for the Real World !,
By A Customer
This review is from: Windows Nt Enterprise Networking (Windows Nt Professional Library) (Paperback)
I could not put it down after reading just a few pages in the bookstore. This book really teaches you how to immplement NT enterprise solutions yet does not lose you in the trivial or unnecessary facts. Very useful, best NT book I've ever read. I will buy the authors' next book, what ever it will be.

Essential!,

This review is from: Windows Nt Enterprise Networking (Windows Nt Professional Library) (Paperback)
I highly recommend this book for anybody serious about NT networking. There is a great deal of information about networking NT that is not covered in other books. There is also some futuristic stuff about computer modeling for capacity planning I had never even heard of before.

If you're responsible for NT networks, get this book!,

This review is from: Windows Nt Enterprise Networking (Windows Nt Professional Library) (Paperback)
This guide takes you beyond all previous NT networking books and shows you how to actually implement NT in a network that has more than a dozen users. The authors have a pretty good balance between upper-level overview material (what you use to explain to upper managment) and down 'n dirty configuration details. Also, because it is so concise, you don't need to read the whole book to get your answer. It really is amazing how much they were able to cram into this beefy book.
