Wish I didn't have to use this product, April 21, 2008
This review is from: Windows Live Messenger (Guias Practicas Para Usuarios / Practical Guides for Users) (Spanish Edition) (Paperback)
I purchased two video cameras. One was for myself and one was for my son in Japan. I bought them so that I could see my grandchildren. I soon found that Windows Live Messenger was required to use the cameras so I subscribed to the service. I wish that I hadn't done so.
I thought that I was fairly computer literate but this is absolutely the most complicated thing I have ever tried to use. It seems as if Microsoft is sitting in the background somewhere laughing their collective _sses off. I honestly believe that they have tried, at every opportunity, to make it as hard to use as possible. I have a problem with echoes while trying to talk and went to their help section to try and correct the problem. It took me over an hour to find how to get help and I am still not sure that I found the correct way. It has now been three weeks and I do not have a reply to my inquiry.
Sure, Windows Live Messenger has personal blogs but I am not a fourteen year old girl and I do not care what color bow someone bought for their dog or what someone thinks about Justin Timberlake's new pants. I have email service through my server that is far and away better than the email service included with Windows Live Messenger. I can find better games, more complete news, and can find videos somewhere else. The only reason that I need this is to see my grandchildren and every time that I use it I have problems. This seems to be just like every other Microsoft product I have ever used - useless features and problems, problems, problems.
If you don't need this product find a better one somewhere else!
