Product Description

For sale official Windows 7 64Bit System Recovery Discs. If you're like most PC users, you probably got Windows 7 with a new PC or laptop. And if you're like 99% of the population, you get your new machines from one of the major manufacturers. Dell, Acer, Asus, Sony, HP, Toshiba, Lenovo, who all have one thing in common: they don't give you a real Windows 7 installation disc with your purchase. Instead, they bundle what they call a "recovery disc" (that's if you're lucky - otherwise you'll have a recovery partition instead). This disk is the only way of recovering a broken installation. Windows 7 System Recovery Disk has a complete recovery center that provides you with the option of recovering your system via automated recovery (searches for problems and attempts to fix them automatically), rolling-back to a system restore point, recovering a full PC backup, or accessing a command-line recovery console for advanced recovery purposes. However, it cannot be used to install or reinstall Windows 7. Don't wait until your PC crashes to get a copy! Get your recovery disc today, so that when the time comes, you'll be ready! What it does: The Windows 7 Recovery Disc can be used to access a system recovery menu, giving you options of using System Restore, Complete PC Backup, automated system repair, and a command-line prompt for manual advanced recovery. What it doesn't do: You cannot use the Windows 7 Recovery Disc to re-install Windows - it only fixes (not replaces!) Windows. Why you need it: If you bought your PC from a major retailer, you didn't get this CD with your hefty purchase. Any questions? Feel free to ask

5.0 out of 5 stars Windows 7 System Recovery Disk October 19, 2013
Verified Purchase
The recovery disk is the only way to save yourself from catastrophic errors that leave you with a blue screen. Even if you can boot your machine, this disk can save you from many spooky problems. The recovery disk checks your entire installation for correct configuration and replaces any corrupt or missing files.

Microsoft, in its infinite wisdom, did not include the Windows 7 recovery software in the ISO or EXE installation program files that you can download from the Web. So, if you buy Windows 7 or its upgrade from the Web, you need this disk or the physical Windows 7 program disk to recover from catastrophic errors (that is, those errors that you cannot fix with a restart). (I found this out the hard way.) You can, if you feel comfortable with doing so, download the files from the Web and burn them to a virgin DVD. If your only computer is down, or you did not order an installation disk with your Windows, or you cannot find the installation disk, the fastest, easiest, and cheapest way to get back up and running is to order this disk. Just power your machine up, boot from the CD or DVD drive, and follow a few instructions.

Of course, the best thing to do is to have this recovery disk on hand before anything goes wrong. It can save you a lot of pain and money.

1.0 out of 5 stars This disc does not fix nor install new copy of ... September 2, 2014
Verified Purchase
This disc does not fix nor install new copy of win7 for your sick computer. It does however
provide command line access to the hard drive file system so you can at least to recover some files, but not the
win 7 itself.
It is a misleading product, one should understand this is not the disc you can count on to put a new copy of Win7 to replace your corrupted one.
I finally get my laptop back to life by using a win 7 bootable install disc (you need the license key). After that, I need to solve wireless driver
problem because the disc contains no drivers for all laptops. The easiest way is to get a low cost usb wifi . Once you regain network access you will be able to hunt the real video card driver so the fonts and graphics will look decent.

A Live boot CD is not the same as a start up disk. Misleading description. You can make your own start up disk easily.
