5.0 out of 5 stars Solid reference for the TCP/IP stack in Windows Server 2008
This book describes in detail and very clearly the protocols of the core TCP/IP stack in Windows Server 2008 and Windows Vista and how to modify its behavior with registry settings and netsh commands. I disagree with VG's evaluation of this title. Routing and NAT are covered in the "TCP/IP Fundamentals" free online book on the companion CD. The netsh commands that he...

3.0 out of 5 stars Poorly edited, incomplete and somewhat confusing
The book states that it's goal is to provide a user (or admin) view of TCP/IP in Win2k8 Server and Vista. It doesn't do a good job. Routing and NAT are hardly covered.

* The discussion on SWS (silly...

This review is from: Windows Server 2008 TCP/IP Protocols and Services (Paperback)
The netsh commands that he cites are for the Routing and Remote Access service, which are outside the scope of this book. Lastly, I find the explanation of SWS in the book very clear, within the context of Chapter 12.
