NO DOUBT !!! This is the best book out there.,
By A Customer
This review is from: Windows Nt Server 4.0 McSe Study Guide (Hardcover)
Just came out from the exam room, scored 1000. This is the only book I read, I tried Exam Cram which was really good for workstation, but seemed no good on server (just a repeat of the workstation book).I must say that Alan Carter is one of the best guys out there when you look at the vast number of MCSE books on the market. This book is real easy to read and understand, has real good labs on performing NT Server task and everything is explained in plain English also it covers every topic you need to know for the exam. If you are looking to pass the Server exam my advice is get a copy of this book, install server as the labs instruct and get your hands on transcenders, with this combination NT Server is like going to the Mall with an American Express Gold Card.

I was pleased with the detail that this book went into. It discusses the A-Z's of the NT server test which I passed with an 866 the first time I took it. I would highley recomend this book to anyone who wants to pass the 70-067 exam

Excellent Resource!,

This book took me through all three NT exams. As other reviewers note, there is no need to buy three books that contain overlapping information. The descriptions are clear, there are plenty of screen shots, and a number of labs. It also is laid out to let you know what areas are usefull for which exams. My compliments to Mr. Carter for a fine book.

the best mcse prep book on the market,

Not only is Daniel Carter an expert system engineer but he is a brilliant writer. Most of the mcse books are painful to read. When you read Carter's book it feels like he is talking to you. You don't need to take expensive courses to pass the mcse exams. This book is all you need.

VeryGood for Workstation and Server, horrible for Enterprise,
By A Customer
This review is from: Windows Nt Server 4.0 McSe Study Guide (Hardcover)
Use this book for your Workstation and Server exams. However read this book for basics on Enterprise. I used the Dummies series along with this book. The Dummies series is good for giving you understanding on the advance concepts, not the basics. There fore buy this book, then buy the cheap but good quality Dummies series. read this book first. Its very good and written very well. However you MUST supplement your reading, especially for the Enterprise exam with the MCSE Windows NT Server 4 in the Enterprise for Dummies. As A side note for all those doing MCSE + I, did you know that you can get MCP, MCP + I, MCSE, MCDBA if you just focused on MCSE + I and do the Administering SQL Server 7.0 and Designing using SQL server 7.0 as your electives? Now if I can only find a good book on SQL Server 7.0

I just became an MCSE and I have this book to thank for a large part of my success. I orginally began my quest for MCSE studying the Microsoft training material. What a mistake! This book is well organized, complete, easy to read, and has good study questions.

I thought this was a excellent indepth review of the test components. Even though it is very comprehensive I didn't find it that dry. Because of the amount of step by step instructions I will be using this book in addition witha smaller "cram" book. The only contradiction with this book is that on the front cover it tells you it will make you a NT Server Guru, but in the preface Alan says it will NOT make you a Guru.
