I bought this version because it was the best price and was in stock. The OEM version was easy to install. The 32 bit I feel was the best for drivers. It runs better than XP. Boots faster and is alot smarter. The learning curve has not been too bad not having seen Vista (glad I didn't) I would recommend it for Vista users to convert. Once the companies upgrade there software to better Accomodate Window 7, it will be even better. Vista driver seem to work well, as do some of the XP drivers. I ran the Beta (free) version before I made this decision.

I am dual-booting Windows 7 Ultimate and XP Professional. I had to update my graphics card on my home-built desktop. I then created a clean partition on my C:. drive. I set my BIOS to boot from DVD. Booted and did a Custom Install. Installed fine. I enabled BitLocker on the entire disk so that my restore points on XP would not be changed. (I had to setup a startup key on a thumb drive as my BIOS did not have TPM.)
Easy File Transfer was a breeze. I also was able to install Microsft Office 2003 with no problems. I am very impressed with the overall ease of use and it seems to be faster opening Outlook, Word etc. The thumbnail preview and Jump lists of the task bar ICON is really handy. Snap and Aero peek are very useful and cool. So far so good. I love it!

Windows & Ultimate 32-bit OEM Review from Amazon.com,

This version of Windows is head and shoulders above Vista (gone, but, nonetheless, forgotten!). Not a computer technician, replacing the old Vista with the new OS was quite easy. The most time-consuming part of the entire process was reloading the software that was removed as a result of the change. Speed is excellent, the chronic problems with Office reconfigurement with each new email or document is now gone. Since I use this for both personal and professional applications, I could not have made a better move for the sake of productivity and removal of chronic frustration seen with Vista.

Well, I bought this before leaving America to work in South Korea. I intended to put it on a computer I would build here in South Korea. The license on the box the DVD came in said, dated April, 2010, that it "may" not activate outside the USA or Canada (didn't notice this until I got to Korea and was too late to return to Amazon). Wasn't aware of that from Amazon's advertising. Guess I should've known?
I now know it doesn't ship overseas. I've written to Microsoft about my situation, but after two weeks, no answer. I guess I'll wait a while before I try to put it on a machine here. Maybe the licence will change eventually?

it was the best price. Fast and easy to install. It's including a lot of drivers so I do not need install drivers for my computer after win 7 ultimate installed. Win 7 wakes up very fast from sleep mode.

I really like the looks of Windows7.
I like the fact that I can move the task bar around. Being able to have your own pictures as your background change every 5mins.is nice.I'm sure there are some other features that I like but I can't think of them right now.

Having problems,

This review is from: Windows 7 Ultimate 32 Bit System Builder 1pk [Old Version] (DVD-ROM)
Windows 7 came preinstalled on a computer that I just purchased. Microsoft, in its great wisdom, furnishes a 64 bit system to computer manufacturers for new computers (you can get a 32 bit system if you upgrade an old computer). The 64 bit system has incompatibilites with 32 bit software. Now I am having headaches. Most of us have software (document files, address files, etc., that we need to transfer to new computers). This partially works. I was able to transfer older word processin software along with my document files. However, the part ot the software for creating new folders, i.e., directories, would not work. I can get around that problem by using MS Word to creat new folders (that requires buying Microsoft Office - you will need to buy the new 64 bit version). There are some problems with the MS Word formatting that I am still trying to resolve.
Another problem is that the 64 bit Internet Explorer will not fully access some Internet sites (not everyone in the world is using 64 bit software). This is the problem other reviewers have noted. The other Internet Explorer I have on the PC (apparently 32 bit) will access the sites, so you have to be careful which one you use. Also Windows 7 will not seem to accept the latest Adobe Flash Player software, making it impossible to read documents requiring a flash player. I was able to download an earlier version which seems to work at the moment. This is a glitch in the Windows 7 software. Some people have told me that they have problems using printers. I found that, for reasons unknown, the software came preloaded to access printers I did not have. It is necessary to go into the Control Panel, select the listing for printers, and delete the listed printers that you do not have. Otherwise, when you print, your computer will try to use a default printer you do not have (like One Note) and will not print. Use Select Printer to add in the printer you have. Some things are just annoying, like having to log back in with a password every time it goes to a screen saver. That may be a useful in a large office, but I work in a spare room at home. I have tried turning off this feature, but when I try entering that option, the Windows7 software will not accept the change. There is also the problem with shortcuts on the desktop. Like many people, I move shortcuts to the desktop for frequently used software. Windows7 keeps deleting them from the desktop and I have to find them again. While the system still works, these are aggravations that accumulate. So, there are some problems you can get around with some effort, and some that still need to be resolved. I would recommend against buying a new PC that comes preloaded with Windows 7 in the 64 bit format until some problems are fixed. The 32 bit may have some problems but, as noted, you may be able to get around those with some effort. Microsoft support is not the best, and tends to refer you to discussion groups that are discussing earlier versions of software. Buying Windows7 is somewhat like buying a new car that you have to continually take back to the shop to get problems fixed. The dealer will fix the problems, but in the meantime you are losing time spent dealing with the aggravations. In the case of cars, you can buy a Japanese model that works. In the case with Microsoft, you seem to be stuck with a US company that dominates the market amd seems to have little incentive to improve.

This OEm version of Windows 7 Ultimate edition is vastly simplified and superior to any other version of Windows. It gives the computer a feel with the best attributes of XP and somewhat a Mac look. The OS allows you to run 32 bit or 64 bit programs. I myself have not needed drivers for my mother board to run Win 7 ultimate because I bought an Asus board that was optimized for Win 7. It's easy and straight forward to use and set up. I can't believe that it ever was any other way before Win 7 ultimate.
