This book had to be the most horrible book for novices in the world! First of all, this book covers the bare-bone basics. It's basically only for the people that don't even know hwat Windows XP is. Second, most of the book is devoted to showing only what everyone else knows how to do in previous Windows versions. It does explain a little about XPs new features such as fast user switching and the welcome screen, but not enough. I also find some of the "Go get your system administrator for this one!" extreemly annoying! The type of people who would buy this book are home users. Now how many of us have system administrators running about in our home?
Save yourself the money, and the frustration, and buy yourself another book. You'd have to be a real big dummy to get this one.

Some of us are still using Windows 95 and Windows 95 for Dummies Quick Reference is a great reference tool when used alone or along with Windows 95 for Dummies. It's compact size and alphabetical format assists in finding the answers quickly.

I have been referring to this guide for six months now and have not taken a single item of help from it.

This is a great book for people who call u with the questions like this!
"Do you know how to change the background on my desktop"
If you get these types of questions? Spend some small change and give them this book!

This is so basic that if you can navigate and download, look for something else. Great beginner book! I gave it away.

Items were poorly packaged and damaged during shipping. Shipping time LONG due to blizzard in New York so it was held up in transit, but eventually came. Not sellers fault with the snow-- seller needed to package better though to prevent damage.

This book is an absolute Must-Have for any new Windows 95/98/2000 User. I bought one for all the newbies in my offices! Also contains great tips for those seasoned Windows users. You must have one of these on your bookshelf for quick reference!

The book tries to cover too much, and only presents the basics and highlights of the topics it covers. I found very little to help me solve the problems I have with my particular setup with WinXP.
