5.0 out of 5 stars Winds of Devotion
The CD Winds of Devotion took me away. It took me on a journey of serenity and calm. It touched an ancient part of spirit as it whisked me away to a tranquil space. I highly recommend this CD to anyone who wishes to go on such a journey. I've purchased other CD's by R. Carlos Nakai and Nawang Khechog, and this CD is a marvelous combination of Native American flute, chants...

1.0 out of 5 stars Too much chanting
I was hoping to have some relaxing music for yoga without a lot of vocals. I teach yoga and don't want to compete with the music. I am disappointed in this cd. All four songs have so much vocalizations that it is of no use to me. The parts with out the chanting are lovely. I have Nakai's Inner voices CD and love it !!! I play it everyday in my office and use it...

It will truly transport you to a space within that has perhaps not been reached before. The music speaks to the spirit.

5.0 out of 5 stars turquoise, coral and silver, March 17, 2010

I like the Native American flute like the next guy. Especially during massage :) Yet this CD brings something extra to the table, a sensitivity that can only arise from great collaboration. There is a quantum leap in these songs from simple melodies to 'transdimensional' pieces that combine the devotion permeating ancient Tibetan conchs, mantras and prayers with the wind flowing through space. Excellent use of 5.1 surround sound. Perfect for journeying, for using music as entryway into magical spaces.

Tibetans and Southwestern Indians have kept their traditions vibrant, strong and intact. Both cultures love music as much as they love to work turqouise, coral and silver into artifacts that have profound cultural, spiritual and artistic beauty. Now on this CD they are talking, exchanging and sharing music and it is beautiful to see. And hear. I love this music.

I've had this cd for about 5 years now and listen to it over and over again in my massage sessions. My clients constantly ask me who it is after our session. This truly is a great CD. For the yoga person who wrote a negative review... I can see where she is coming from and I probably wouldn't want this for a yoga class where instruction is needed, but it is absolutely fantastic for massage or meditation. It always puts me in a trance. I feel that by bodywork is always exceptional when I listen to this album.
