5.0 out of 5 stars The Dumerest Saga
First in a series of adventures with Earl Dumerest, searching the galaxy for his lost and now mythical home, Earth.
Set in the far distant future this saga is sadly underated, due mainly I believe to it's slowly unfolding story (Earl finds clues few and far between to the where abouts of his lost home) and it's space opera quailty (dealing in no giant sci fi themes...

Dumarest is searching, and no-one believes him when he tells them he is from a planet called earth that circles a star called sun.

5.0 out of 5 stars The Dumerest Saga, June 12, 2002

This review is from: The Winds of Gath (Dumarest of Terra #1) (No.1) (Paperback)
First in a series of adventures with Earl Dumerest, searching the galaxy for his lost and now mythical home, Earth.
Set in the far distant future this saga is sadly underated, due mainly I believe to it's slowly unfolding story (Earl finds clues few and far between to the where abouts of his lost home) and it's space opera quailty (dealing in no giant sci fi themes but just concerning Dumerest's galactic journey).
It's the quality that's important here though, not the scale of things. Each story is well written and exciting, and you're quickly caught up in his quest for Earth.

3.0 out of 5 stars Super Reader, August 30, 2007
This review is from: The Winds of Gath (Dumarest of Terra #1) (No.1) (Paperback)
Dumarest is searching, and no-one believes him when he tells them he is from a planet called earth that circles a star called sun.

However, he does raise the odd eyebrow when he beats a supremely good professional fighter, and catches an assassin animal with what appears to be superhuman, or at least completely subconscious and instictual reflexes.

He gets mixed up in the politics of the ruling class on Gath, and death follows in his footsteps, until he uncovers the cyber clan manipulators at the heart of it. He is little closer to his goal, though.
