This, like all COLIN FLETCHER books is great. although I'm only one third of the way through, his philosophy on the outdoors is deeply moving. I've read 6 of his 7 books now and there is not a bad one among them. They make you totally rethink the outdoor experience.

This is my 5th Colin Fletcher book. I have enjoyed his work since I first read about him back in 1998 in Backpacker magazine. I have enjoyed this book also but to be fair it just isn't as captivating as his other books so far. I am 3/4 of the way through it and while I enjoy the book it is taking a little discipline to keep going back to it. His other books I didn't want to put down and would end up staying up all night to read them and not be worth too much at work the next day. If you can get the book though I would recomend reading it, especially if you are a Colin Fletcher fan or enjoy reading about Africa.
