Till Death Do Us Part

Conar McGregor: Disinherited Prince of Serenia; Lost Soul. From the shores of Oceania to the castle at Boreas, Conar and his lady-wife triumph over The Brotherhood, only to have their world shattered by a destiny written long ago and a King afraid of the truth. A Prince without a crown, a man without a legacy, Conar must face a fate worse than death.

Liza: A Princess without a Prince, whose heart grieves for the pain suffered by her husband, whose belief in justice is spared no lashing at the hands of the Brotherhood, and whose soul will die as her love is lost beyond her reach.

Kaileel Tohre: High Priest of the Brotherhood of the Domination. Tohre's madness rages as Conar spurns his love for the last time. He feeds his perversity as he begins to topple a kingdom.

5.0 out of 5 stars Timeless Tales 4.5 star review, February 14, 2003

This review is from: Windweeper (Windlegends Saga) (Bk. 3) (Paperback)
By TT reviewer Susan Tam
Windweeper is book three from the WindLegends Saga. The book opens with Conar and Liza trying to get back on track as a couple. In the previous book, Conar sent Liza back to her parents but he has come to reclaim his wife. However, her family has taken exception to her treatment at Conar's hands and they are set on keeping her safe. They refuse to let her return with him to Serenia until he proves he has conquered his problems. Conar seems to have control over his anger, jealousy and his drinking problem. Liza remains steadfast in her love and belief in him. Finally, Liza is allowed to return with her husband back to Serenia. However, the shadows of Kaileel Tohre and the Brotherhood of the Domination are not far behind. Kaileel has not taken Conar's rejection well. He is hell bent on destroying Conar and all that he holds dear -- his wife, children, family and friends.

Of the three books in this series I have read, I've enjoyed this one the most. It was the most balanced in terms of story and character development. The violence was not overdone compared to the previous book. I experienced great joy and great sorrow and practically all the emotions in between. I enjoyed learning more about the secondary characters especially Legion, Brelan and even Galen. You learn more about Kaileel and Conar's relationship. This book takes you beyond Conar and Liza's relationship.

In order to understand the motivations, characterizations and storyline, I highly recommend you read the books in order. You can see the growth and maturation of the characters over these three books. I look forward to reading book four of this series when it is published.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great romantic fantasy, December 5, 2004
This review is from: Windweeper (Windlegends Saga) (Bk. 3) (Paperback)
In Liza's home Oceania, Conar is unable to control his temper so his father-in-law incarcerates him. Unbeknownst to the royals, Conar's guard has drugged him. A recurring nightmare chills Conar because he would rather die than see his beloved Princess sleep with his half-brother and in those same dreams his former mentor/tormentor Kaileel Tohre vows to separate the lovers forever. Eventually, he and Liza decide to return to his father's kingdom over the objection of his mother-in-law who fears for her daughter's safety.

Liza believes they are destiny's children with her being the Keeper and him the Prince of the Wind. However, Tohre is stronger and his thirst for vengeance over Conar's rejection deeper. He plans to give Liza to Conar's half brother, destroy Conar so he begs to return, and devastate the land by making Conar's twin Galen the monarch. The Brothers of the Dominion that he leads appear on the verge of achieving these goals the disinherited Conar lies seemingly dead in the Labyrinth, Galen has a now pregnant Liza at his side on the throne, and Tohre rules the kingdom.

The third Windlegend tale is fantastic as time moves on with the death of Conar's father and Liza now with King Galen. The story line is action-packed leaving readers breathless at the pace of the major subplots. As with the fine first two novels, the tale is owned by a terrific cast of good vs. evil with the bad guys having the upper hand. Excellent fantasy that is best read by starting with the previous tales as this novel builds up the excitement and tension from them; how much higher can as Charlotte Boyett-Compo take her audience with the remaining six stories?

4.0 out of 5 stars The battle continues..., November 26, 2003
This review is from: Windweeper (Windlegends Saga) (Bk. 3) (Paperback)
This book began where the last left off. Liza and Conar arrive home with their newborn daughter, Nadia. Nadia was only the first of several Liza gave birth to in this novel.

The Domination was not finished with Conar yet. Even Tohre would not be able to help him. Conar's son, Corbin, would also catch the Temple's eyes. Corbin was born with the crescent shaped mark in his hand. The mark was "The Sign of the Wind". Liza would sacrifice much for her son. The whole realm would.

**** Readers again are warned of torture scenes and dark fantasy. I had to be VERY careful not to give anything ital away. This book is fast paced and over-flowing with surprises! I recommend this entire series highly and look forward to book four! ****
