One of the Best Jazz Holiday CDs, November 29, 2010

The "Windy" in the title refers Tatsu Aoki's hometown of Chicago, not to the presence of woodwinds on the recording. Traditional enough to not clear the room, there is something good and interesting enough to keep demanding listeners involved without becoming annoying or repetitious. Neither new age or avante garde, the performance lands somewhere around "Post-Bop" for those who like their Jazz with labels. This and
Justin Time for Christmas 3 are two of my favorite contemporary holiday Jazz CDs. It looks like Windy Christmas may be out of print now, so I would snap one up before they become unavailable. Use your Google's to find more about this amazing bass player.
