5.0 out of 5 stars Midwest's Most Haunted City, August 9, 2001
By A Customer
This review is from: Windy City Ghosts (Paperback)
This long awaited book has finally been written. The book explores some of the cities most haunted locations. You get alot of good information, including the history and possible haunting that is going at that location. The books covers around 100 locations throughout the city. From some of the famous to the little known locations. You'll read about "Archer Avenue", to the "Midlothian Turnpike." This book has it all, anyone with some interest to the serious investigator, this book is not to be missed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Only the best, September 26, 2005
This review is from: Windy City Ghosts (Paperback)
Very well written book from someone who actually is out in the field researching and investigating the paranormal. Lots of useful information about the alleged haunting and the location. The dates are accurate along with the story. This book is well researched and written by a person who has been doing for this for over 25 years.
I've read other Chicago books on the paranormal and some can't even get the story straight.
Enjoy this book and take his tour if your in the Chicagoland area!

1.0 out of 5 stars Amateurish, August 3, 2004

Lynn the book lover (Elk Grove Village, IL) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Windy City Ghosts (Paperback)
This embarassing book claims to tell of hauntings but the ghost tale portion of each section is sketchy at best, sometimes barely even mentioned. Statements are made regarding supposed paranormal phenomena, but are not backed up with specifics and end up sounding like gossip only. This is a very shallow and poorly written book. There are numerous annoying typos, grammatical errors and word omissions. Sometimes information is listed that contradicts something just mentioned a sentence or two earlier. I can't recall ever reading such an unprofessionally written book. The photos look like they were made with a copier, and are difficult to see. Supposedly amazing or interesting photos that have been taken are mentioned, but those photos are not included!

I enjoy reading books on this subject a great deal and was looking forward to reading "Windy City Ghosts", but was very disappointed.
