Distilled to its essence, what you have here is a little less that two pounds of Ghirardelli chocolates, in various configurations, a nice basket, and a bow. Ghiardelli is decent American made chocolate, though hardly gourmet quality by European standards. Still, this would make a nice gift.

So the question becomes, how much is two pounds of Ghiardelli chocolate and a basket worth? Surely it's not worth the list price of this basket, at least not on the basis of contents. You could assemble the same basket yourself for probably 1/3 of the list price. But that's not really the point...If you're looking at this basket on Amazon, you're looking for something nice to send as a gift. This is a nice looking gift that would be sure to bring some pleasure to a chocolate fan.

I'd rate the basket a high 4 stars for appeal, and 2 stars for value. Call it 3 stars on average.

I love this basket, I really do. It is filled with assorted fine quality chocolate and includes an anniversary keepsake tin. The basket is not the best quality, and there isn't a whole lot of chocolate, so the list price is kind of steep, I feel. That is why I could not give it 5 stars. Other than that, it is a lovely gift, and a very tasty one too.

Wow. There is a _lot_ of chocolate in this basket. Enough to make many batches of chocolate chip cookies. All of the chocolate was well packaged and tasted yummy. None of the chocolate had that "white bloom" so you know the chocolate was fresh and well preserved. I'm in chocolate heaven!

I bought two of these as gifts and ended up keeping one for myself. Great value for the sale price I paid.

This gift basket was alot larger that I expected. This makes a great house warming, birthday, etc. gift. The display of the basket was packed very well and was also very pleasing to the eye.

It's a little expensive, but the quality is excellent and the packaging is very attractive.

This is a beautiful basket and I can't wait to give it for a gift. This is great for any chocolate lover!

Perfect housewarming or get well gift, the basket is very large, sturdy and well stocked with better than average Ghirardelli chocolate - the "other" San Francisco treat! This gift basket truly is a lovely presentation certain to please any lucky recipient!

This is the most delicious gift basket on Amazon.com! Who wouldn't love getting a basket full of chocolate?! This one's great because it comes with so many varieties of chocolate. And it's high quality chocolate too--Ghirardelli is one of the best! All the chocolate in the basket is good for both eating and baking. I love the tin too! It's nice to have something to keep after you've eaten everything.
