I bought this unit in 2007 and since that it was broken twice and even though it's on 5 year warranty, WINE ENTHUSIAST refused to fix it for the second time it's broken and ask me to pay extra for the new unit to ship to me ( STILL UNDER WARRANTY!!!). Never buy here again, share my terrible experience with everyone I know. Spent 5 days on the phone with customer service and promise that their GM will call me back...never called me back. Very disappointed.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Compact Dual Zone Wine Cooler February 21, 2014
By annfh67
I think the problem with a lot of negative reviews is people don't understand how a product works. This is meant to hold your less expensive wines and is not mean for really long storage. A couple years sure, but 5, 10, 15, 20? If you storing wine that long, buy a wine cellar. Or if your bottle of wine is more expensive then the wine cooler... well...

This unit is not meant to be put in the garage, an attic, outside on your deck or in a boat. So don't put it there and then complain when it breaks. It's meant to go inside your house where normal living conditions will support how this unit functions. And it's not meant to be built in. So when you put it in a cabinet, under your counter or in a small closet, it's going to over heat and break. It produces heat and needs room to move that heat away from the unit.

It says everywhere standard bottles fit in this unit. That's true for almost any wine cooler of this price size. The nice thing is you can take the shelves out and bulk stack the bottles if you have to. This should be no surprise.

This unit looks nice, it is silent, because from what I know the only moving parts are two computer sized fans in the back. There is no true compressor with liquid running all around the walls of the unit. And the touchscreen functions are nice. Easy to operate and look modern.

The box came way over packed I thought. It was easy to get out of the box after I laid it down and slid it out. Set up was easy, plug it in, set the temperatures.

I can't speak to their customer service or tech support as I didn't need it. Hopefully I won't, but if I do I know amazon will help generally. I'll be happy if I get a few years out of this thing based on the cost. I don't expect it to last 10-15 years. It is what it is.

4.0 out of 5 stars Love the 2 separate zones and the size August 12, 2010

Just the right size for what I needed. Having 2 separate zones is perfect. In the heat of the summer we are now able to drink Red wine at the right temp. no longer drinking warm Red. And yes this unit is quiet!

5.0 out of 5 stars Looks great, and works great too! June 23, 2013

Ordered this wine refrigerator after weeks of research. Seems like the ratings were dependent on who (and where) it was reviewed.
Anyway, went ahead and bit the bullet given the price and features, and it arrived last Friday. No damages, everything was where it was supposed to be, all documents were included, etc. READ THE OWNER'S MANUAL and let it "settle" for a couple of hours before plugging it in and setting the temperatures (a snap, by the way) in the upper/Red area to 65 degrees, and the lower/White area to 50 degrees. I loaded it up with our wines on hand, and let it go overnight. By morning, the temps read spot on; 65 on top, 50 on the bottom, and the bottles were cool (lower cooler than upper, of course). On Sunday, reset the lower to 48 degrees, which it got to in under an hour.
Read that "oversized" bottles wouldn't fit. Interesting. Put a bottle of sparkling wine in the lowest receptacle, and while tight, it did fit, so am a little puzzled at that one. Maybe all wine bottles won't fit, but it does the job for what I need.
So, based on what I've experienced so far, 5 stars. Of course, I reserve the right to modify this based on longer term performance, but as of right now, I couldn't have asked for more.

Update: 5 months later, and still working like a charm. One feature that would be nice is a "temp memory" so that in the event of a power failure, it retained the existing settings. First time it happened I thought that the fridge had gone bad. But, reset to the desired temps and good to go.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nice addition April 12, 2013

After looking into a number of wine fridges, we decided on this due to size and price. It is located in our lower level by our wet bar. I read the reviews about it being loud but mine is located by a TV so the noise is not noticeable. It has kept temp but it is on the lower level and it has been cold so it does not have to work very hard to do that with the weather.
Looks good and does what it is supposed to.

2.0 out of 5 stars One zone defunct in less than two years November 14, 2012
Bought as a Christmas present two years ago, unit worked fine for a year and a half, then the top zone simply quit. Do not recommend.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wine refrigerator review October 25, 2013
By Sally B

We've had it about two months and so far, it has worked as promised. It really helps reducing the space taken up with wine bottles in the frig and I like the temperature of the wine better. I'm one who thinks room temperature for red wine means 60 degrees and not 70 or more.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent performance for the money August 30, 2012
After much research, I bought this unit for my wife at Bevmo because of the convenience of picking it up and taking it home the same day. I was skeptical of the thermo cooling technology but the thing works even in the dry Arizona climate.

It is an attractive unit, the noise is minimal and it keeps the dual temp very well. The fan motor only works occasionally so the noise is not even noticeable most of the time.

We keep the lower temp at 55 degrees and when I take one bottle out it is indeed cold.

I recommend this unit and I had it for over a year now.

I wish it was totally silent but that is probably not possible for any appliance that has a moving part, such as the thermo cooling fan. So I gave it a 5 star review.

So far so good. This fridge reaches the set temperature slowly, but once it is fairly full of wines, it holds its temp well.
