Product Description

Our sleek, stylish Touchscreen Silent Wine Refrigerators are built with thermoelectric cooling systems for eco-friendly operation and pin-drop silent performance in sizes to fit any space, any style, any budget. ***Applications: This model is not meant to be built-in to cabinetry, recessed or put underneath a counter. Additionally this model is not meant to be used in an enclosed area. While the back of the unit does produce a minimal amount of heat, it still needs to vent to an open area.

Customer Reviews

This unit is very quiet!
Lori S. Barker
The unit maintains a steady temperature for the wine, and chilling the whites perfectly while the red wines stay at their slightly warmer temperature.
David A. Wend
It is also very INEFFICIENT, running almost constantly.

I've had this refrigerator for about 3 months now and so far I really like it. It's small but fists enough bottles that I can vary my choices. Its also not too low having to bend too much all the time. Most of all it makes no noise, which is something I was afraid of after reading reviews for other options. I love that it gives me the option to have 2 chilling zones and its cute enough that I have it in my dining room. This was a gift from friends and I really am happy they gave it to me!

I had read several reviews about various wine refrigerators, many of them noting the noise level. I planned on placing this in my breakfast nook, which is where my family and I spend a good amount of time (playing games, studying, etc.). This unit is very quiet! I also like the dual temperature zones. I agree with some of the reviews that the racks only accommodate standard size bottles, so if you plan on storing a tall Riesling, or a champagne bottle, you may need to take out a rack, or store the bottle on an angle. All-in-all this is one great wine refrigerator!

I purchased my 21-bottle wine cellar from Brookstone, who sells the 18-bottle cellar at Amazon. When delivered, the box was a bit unwieldy due to its size but the cellar itself is easy to pick up and move. Please read the short owner's manual that comes with the unit; there are instructions on setting up the unit. The wine cellar should not be positioned and turned immediately on as it needs some time to acclimate.

I set mine up in my basement, screwing the handle in place, and let the unit sit overnight. The next day, I plugged the unit in and set the temperatures, allowing the cellar to reach its designated temperatures. Only then did I put the wine bottles inside. The unit works beautifully and quietly. Because of the relative coolness of the basement, the cellar does not need to switch on and off very often. When it does it is very quiet. The unit should be place somewhere where it will not be subjected to excessive heat, such as a garage. The unit maintains a steady temperature for the wine, and chilling the whites perfectly while the red wines stay at their slightly warmer temperature. This is a perfect unit for keeping a collection of fine wines.

If you put this anywhere close to low 50's it is not nearly silent. Sounds more like a DC3 at full speed. Unusable.

UPDATE: Called Wine Enthusiast, turns out there is a fan defect and they are immediately shipping a replacement. Good News!

First off, we are very pleased with the wine refrigerator and have it fully stocked with our latest purchases from the Russian River Valley!

It is not quite silent, but quieter than a normal refrigerator as you do hear the fan running, particularily as it is first starting up. Once the desired temperature(s) are reached, it cycles on and off and maintains the constant temperature. When the fan runs you can hear it, but not so loudly as to disturb sleep or conversation.

We were pleased that we can put "normal" bottles inside, including riesling-sized necks without trouble. There is little clearance between shelves, so pay attention to your labels if that is important!

Instead of "Silent", it is LOUD. Silent is a complete misrepresentation of the product. It is also very INEFFICIENT, running almost constantly. Looks good. The Wine Enthusiast brand name draws interest, but the actual unit only damages the brand. As others have warned, do not buy - you will likely be sorry once you actually run it for a week or so.

It's definitely not silent, and now the top zone has stopped cooling. We've only had the unit for about three months!
