Book Description

August 31, 2010
The Wine Seekers' Guide to the Livermore Valley is the first exclusive guide to this little-known wine region, introducing adventurous wine lovers to more than forty wineries, the owners and winemakers, and their superb wines. The guide provides directions, operating hours, and contact information for each winery, a map of the region, recommendations for where to stay, and a detailed restaurant guide. The Wine Seekers' guides lead readers to delight-filled locales where exceptional but perhaps unheralded wines are produced with old-world quality by families eager to share not only their award-winning products but also their harmonious lifestyle and welcoming communities with visitors.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent history and review of Livermore wineries September 13, 2010
Format:Paperback
This book tells the history of each winery, the owners philosophy of winemaking, the varietals and more. Reading it I got a real sense of just how important Livermore wineries are to California wines now and when winemaking began in this region. This book is a treasure.

5.0 out of 5 stars Fantastic Book! Great for XMAS gifts!!! September 18, 2010
Format:Paperback
Thank you Mr Wilmer for writing a book about the Livermore wine region. It is not only a travel book but also a great book to put out on the coffee table! The pictures are great and so are the write-ups. I like reading about the individual wineries because Livermore has so many interesting ones. I know not all are included, but doesn't matter as this is a book about the region as a whole and everyone benefits. I am sure there will be more editions to include new wineries as this is definately a wine region to watch!

5.0 out of 5 stars Finally! A Livermore Wine Region Book!!! MUST READ September 18, 2010
Format:Paperback
This little book is great! Each winery has it's own section with colorful pictures and detailed information about each. The writing is easy to clear, easy, and simple to read. The intoduction is informational about the Livermore wine region, followed in the end by things to do and see in Livermore. Livermore is finally a real tourist attraction! This book is exactly what this wine region and city need. Customers have so many wine regions to choose from and now this book gives them a reason to choose Livermore. The cover is attractive and would make anyone want to visit Livermore any day. However, I must add that some of the reviews for this book are baffling... a one star?? Who gives a travel book a one star?? I don't find these reviews to really be a "review" of the book at all, more of an attack on the author or an association for reasons that no one really cares about. If a business doesn't get into a travel book, let the business owner figure it out or contact the author. Don't use Amazon book review site as a personal platform when it should be used as a place for constructive criticism or praise of books and novels.
