5.0 out of 5 stars Worked like a charm
Red wine got spilt on my beige carpet in two places one weekend. Usually drenching a stain in water, covering with salt, letting it dry and vacuuming it up does the trick but for whatever reason these were very stubborn. I kept the stains wet and salted from Saturday to Thursday when I got the Wine Away. I dried the stains, sprayed them with Wine Away, let sit and then...

3.0 out of 5 stars May work on wine but not on red Koolaid
I hesitate to give this a star rating because, honestly, I tried it on a red Koolaid-type stain rather than on red wine. We flavor our drinking water with sugar-free powdered drink mix, and a full cup of red-colored drink mix spilled on our cream-colored carpet. We tried removing it with over-the-counter carpet cleaners, and when that didn't work, we hired a professional...

I dried the stains, sprayed them with Wine Away, let sit and then blotted. Suffice to say I was floored when the stains lifted almost immediately. One stain is completely gone and the other is significantly decreased, it simply looks like a slightly darker shade of beige - a huge improvement over the dark red it was. Anyone with any light carpets or rugs should keep this on hand at all times - I'm very very impressed.

5.0 out of 5 stars It even passes the "stupid" test, June 13, 2011

A guest at our party broke a glass of red wine on our light-colored carpet. "No, no, please don't worry. Really, we were going to replace it anyway." We blotted, applied multiple stain removers, used the steam cleaner, and probably did several things that only made it go deeper and set more solidly. The carpet remained stubbornly stained in several places. Five days after the commission of the original sin, I got the Wine Away from Amazon. I held little hope, assuming the stains had settled in and made themselves a permanent home. The Wine Away... well, c'mon, look at the name--what do YOU think it did? There is not even the tiniest, tell-tale sign that red wine camped on our carpet for almost a week. This stuff is amazing.

I hesitate to give this a star rating because, honestly, I tried it on a red Koolaid-type stain rather than on red wine. We flavor our drinking water with sugar-free powdered drink mix, and a full cup of red-colored drink mix spilled on our cream-colored carpet. We tried removing it with over-the-counter carpet cleaners, and when that didn't work, we hired a professional carpet cleaner. He tried steam, and that didn't work either (and we paid $75 anyway). So as a last resort, I ordered Wine Away based on its wonderful reviews. However, it didn't begin to touch the stain, and the cream-colored carpet is still a rosy pink. Oh well.

For me, this product simply did not remove the red wine stains, or even noticeably lessen them. I was going to give up and let the professionals have a try, but then I gave OxiClean a chance, and it did much better.

Did you ever spill wine on a white carpet? What a bummer. Luckily, there is Wine Away. It really, really works. Takes the stain away completely and leaves a light citrus smell afterward! I highly recommend this to clumsy people or people who spill a lot.

5.0 out of 5 stars WINE AWAY IS A TOP NOTCH STAIN REMOVER, February 17, 2011
This review is from: Wine Away Red Wine Staine Remover, 8 oz Aluminium Spray Can (Kitchen)
I give this the highest possible rating - why: it even took out the blood that was on my shirt and carpet after the wine glass broke...and it left behind this fantastic orange-vanilla scent. I'm not the only one who agrees - [...]even Good Housekeeping gave it the thumbs-up - and if that isn't saying something I don't know what is.
