heavier than a wet blanket, November 26, 2005

Okay, I cant't believe that I am the first one to review this album, as it's been out for over a year now. Only reason I can see for that is because these guys are completely unknown.
Porn (the Men of) are the heaviest band around. period.
Wine, Women and Song is very thick, flowing music.Singer(Tim Moss) sounds like a dirty old pervert when he sings, very low pitched and gruff. Dale Crover plays drums on this album, so If you know who he is (hint: the Melvins) then you already know his style, which always seems just a little bit off tempo, just slightly behind where he should be playing. Billy Anderson fills in on the bass, Billy being the producer/engineer of such bands as Neurosis, Sleep and Mr.Bungle, to name a few. This album has a definite Pink Floyd feel to it, very trippy and disturbing at times. Awesome production as well..one of my favorites of 2004, if not my favorite. trust me, if you like heavy, slow, disturbing dirges, this is for you. Buy it.

Thinking man music, October 8, 2006
This review is from: Wine Women & Song (Audio CD)
Porn's third album "Wine, Women and Song" brings images of circle pits in loose dirt, where enormous clouds of dust resonate with the sent of filth and hash. "Porn" also known as "The Men of Porn"is Tim moss(Ritual Device) on guitar/Vocals who sounds like a perverted, blue collared redneck when he howls and Features Dale Crover (Melvins/Altamont)on Skins/Tympani whose off the note style adds a much appreciated dynamic and Billy Anderson (Legendary Producer/Engineer :Brutal Truth, Sleep/High On Fire, Sick Of It All, Bongzilla, Neurosis, Melvins, Eyehategod, Skarp and it goes on and on.) On Bass/Backing Vocals/Piano. Porn slowly drones into behemoth guitar screams and colossal riff abuse than drifts you into drug infested euphoria. Think Pink Floyd's psychodelic ambience on a crash course with Melvins, Black Sabbath and Speedealer."Wine Women and Song"is large on complexity, perfect for repeated listens and is familiar enough to swallow whole. Love it!!
