This amplifier was easy to install and seems to work well. I have it placed next to my antenna and it drives about 200 ft of RG6 cable until it gets to two televisions. I didn't give it five stars only because I'm stingy with maximum ratings. It could probably do something better, but I can't think of what that would be.

This device stays plugged in all of the time, so I was concerned about the amount of power it consumes. I can't plug it into a switched outlet or power strip and then switch it off when no TV is turned on, because my DVR may record at any time. The given specs tell how much power comes out of the power supply, but not how much goes in. The power consumed from the wall outlet is what you will pay for. Now that I have the amplifier, I can read that the power supply is labeled "Input: 120V AC 60 Hz 65 mA" . That's a maximum power consumption of 120 VAC x 65 mA = 7.8 W. Based on the current drawn by the amp, the wall power under typical use might be closer to 5.1 W. Either number seems reasonable to me.

Worked like a charm, I purchased this to overcome signal loss on a long run of RG-6 with 2 Splitters. I emailed Winegard's technical support prior to making the purchase. Winegard's tech support is exceptional in my opinion, tech support needed to know how much cable was used in the system and the splitter loss and locations to properly advise installation. I installed the amplifier in my attic and installed the power inserter in my basement. Be aware you can't use splitters between the amplifier and power inserter. You can use splitters before the amplifier and after the power inserter but not in between the two devices.

I live in a condo where outside antennas are not allowed. Several years ago, I put an antenna in the attic and ran cable to every room in the house except for the bathrooms. What a disappointment. No matter what kind of antenna I used, we just couldn't get the picture quality we got with cable. Then along came HD TV, so I thought I might give it a try again. I used the Winegard SS-3000 Amplified Indoor UHF/VHF Antenna. This time however, I used this amplifier between the antenna and the distribution splitters. What a difference. At last, I can tell the cable company to shove it.

Worked great...for two months, then it just died. Since you can't return it, and it has no warranty from Winegard, you're stuck. Spend the extra couple bucks and go with the Motorola. It seems to be a great unit so far.

This Winegard HDA-100 5-1000 mhz 15db purchase was necessary for the installation of my OTA signal to my tv for HD digital. Wineguard is one of the few companies that still makes a good product.

This amp works very well and was easy to install. I use a small antenna, far from the station towers. Great TV reception for multiple splitter outputs in my house.
