Editorial Reviews

Come along on a very special tour through the magnificent, California countryside in the Sierra Nevada Foothills, home to the lush, fertile vineyards of Amador and El Dorado, and to the men and women who are today's outstanding winemakers. Against a backdrop that captures the beauty and majesty of the Sierra Nevada Foothills, the history of the wine producing industry unfolds, from its beginnings during the famous Gold Rush days, to its early 20th century descent, 1970's revival and present day spiral, because of the dedication and tenacity of those who persevered in their quest to grow the choicest grapes. In personal interviews, the winemakers exhibit an innate pride in their colorful history and in the 'liquid gold' that bear their names.

This review is from: The Winemakers: California Liquid Gold (DVD)
I live right in the midle of this wine growing area and this video is an excellent documentary on the feeling and flavor of all the small family owned and operated wineyards in the California Foothills Gold Rush area. Interesting background and history with good production value.
