I work in the industry as a private wine consultant and am constantly looking for unique and innovative ways to introduce wine education to people. I was looking for the perfect tool to educate my clients about wine while keeping the environment fun and non-pretentious. I purchased the winerd game to satisfy this need, and let me tell you, it was the best move I could have made. It gets my clients drinking, thinking, talking, and enjoying wine while educating them all at the same time. I liked it so much I bought another for my house. It's perfect for dinner parties or small get togethers with friends. If you are a wine drinker and are looking for a fun and educational tool, this is the perfect fit. The only thing that could go wrong is if your guest(s) choose to bring the box stuff.

If you love wine, this game is an absolute blast. The ability to incorporate the wine tasting into the play of the game is really awesome. I am skeptical of this type of "niche" game, but this one blew away my expectations. The only minor, minor complaint is in the trivia questions aren't really that hard for someone who knows about the making of wine. But overall, the game great for a get together with friends. I'd highly recommend it!

I played this game with my small wine tasting group and we did enjoy the game, the questions are interesting, some are difficult and some are not. However, there are only 4 spaces on the board where you actually drink wine. I was quite confused as to how you'd have a wine game when the most you can taste is 4 times and then if your roll bypasses the blind taste tests you'd not drink at all. We actually had one individual that over the 1.5 hours that we played never did land on a blind taste test space. Go figure. The other squares on the game are absolutely nothing. I thought the other squares would be challenges, things to do, I don't know something that would make the game a little more interesting. But they're not.
If you're familiar with the game show "Cash Cab" we actually added red light challenges at all the corners. I purchased a one minute sand timer and we give the person 60 seconds to name 5 white grape varieties, or 5 red grape varieties, 5 vineyards in Bordeaux, 5 grape varieties that are Burgundy wines, etc. I've made up 20 or so of my own questions on 3x5 cards. They can either choose a red light challenge question or a blind taste test. It's something that makes the game more interesting and moves it along.
Another suggestion is to have everyone just bring a bottle of their own wine to drink in between the blind tastings. Otherwise your glass is empty for quite some time. I'm trying to think of some other things to do for some of the other squares so if you have any ideas please send my way.

Wine is becoming more and more popular, and i've learned a ton by playing this game. all the trivia questions are really informative, and it's a great game to structure a tasting around. highly recommended!

This is a great game to have for a party of friends to enjoy together for a night.

Absolutely love this game. We play while enjoying wine on the side too, not just when landing on the Blind Taste. There are many opportunities to do the tasting. We add more than the recommended three bottles of wine, as it doesn't take long to quickly figure out which one is which. With more variety, it adds to the challenge. You can play for hours. The questions offer a variety for the newbies, as well as the experts. Give it a try - soon you'll become a Wine Nerd Too!

This is a good quality game, but if you are any kind of wine connoisseur this game will not be challenging enough to make it fun. If you don't know a lot about wine, than you could have fun and learn some things. My husband and many of our friends love wine and it is their hobby, so it isn't enough to keep their interest.

This is a great game. It mixes trivia and blind tasting. Not only are you drinking good wine (well it depends on what wine you pick), but you are learning wine trivia with your friends (and some of the questions are great conversation starters), and in the end, you have tasted some great bottles of wine.

Sooo much fun! Novice and Wine "Nerd" alike will absolutely love this game. I learned a ton from this game.

This game is pretty lame. I bought it for my sommelier husband and it is not fun or informative. We opened the box and checked it out and never wanted to play. Boo.
