3.0 out of 5 stars Interesting to watch -- just once -- for advanced beginners, May 12, 2003
This review is from: Wineworks (DVD)
This video covers a lot of ground, from the history of wine to the process of making it to tips on pairing wine with food. It doesn't get very technical, but it does a good job of defining terms, and it shows several steps in the winemaking process that aren't always clear to beginners.

I'm not a rank beginner anymore, but I'm far from an expert. I learned plenty of little things -- for instance, a representative from Riedel explains what the fuss is all about with choosing the right stemware for the vintage -- but nothing that blew me away. I don't think a serious wine expert would get a great deal out of it, but the video is entertaining and educational, and certainly wouldn't offend.

This would be a fine gift to give or receive, but it's not the sort of video you'll watch more than once.
