Because there are no Wing Chun schools in my area, I rely on instructional tapes for my practice. I have bought other Wing Chun tapes from Randy Williams, Augustine Fong, and William Cheung, but this one has made the biggest impact on my training. This tape really does a good job explaining not only the details of technique, but also why the details matter in reality. Jason Lau keeps it interesting with his insightful analogies and beautiful scenery. And there are some very cool action scenes as well. A very nicely done tape. I will definitely buy his next one.
Product Description
For over three hundred years, Wing Chun has been one of the fastest and most effective martial arts in existence. A system better suited for the street than for the tournament ring, Wing Chun is elegant in its simplicity and awesome in its efficiency. As the only martial arts system developed by a woman, it provides a smaller, weaker practitioner with the skills to defeat a larger, stronger opponent. Grandmaster Jason Lau has perfected this system and has tested it in combat, both on city streets and on the field of war. In this instructional video, he explains the basic theories of Wing Chun and helps you to train them.
Sifu Lau came to America from Hong Kong and settled in Brooklyn, New York. It was there that he began to prove his skills on the streets by fighting the crime and gangs in his neighborhood.
His fierce reputation as a vigilante led him to be recruited by General Mitchell Werbell III for his counter terrorist training camp, SIONICS. As an instructor and operative for SIONICS, Sifu Lau adapted Wing Chun skills to the arena of warfare.
Sifu Lau has taught Wing Chun for over thirty years. In addition to teaching at his training academy, he also uses his skills to train the Fulton County (Atlanta) Sheriff's Special Emergency Response Teams.
