I have loved this since I first bought over 10 years ago. My disc got lost in a recent move, and I was extremely happy to find I could still get a replacement without paying and arm and a leg. No brainer if you ask me. If you don't have a computer with DOS on it, try the emulator program DOSBox (it is free off the internet) it helps eliminate incompatabilities with newer hardware and runs in windows.

Classic Game,

Classic, classic game. One of the first truly replayable games, as it didn't confine you to a specific mission path; you can explore the Gemini Galaxy to your heart's content and never take on any of the assigned missions if you so choose.
There are several different ways to get the game to work, from having a dedicated old Windows machine (playable in Windows 95/98 or XP) as well as using the emulator DOSBox, which can be run on any Windows machine. I have a short walk through available to get this game running on DosBOX on my old Privateer website, as well as some walkthroughs and oldie editors to make playing the game more enjoyable. If you Google 'Wing Commander Privateer', the site comes up within the first 5 suggestions. |
