This game is simply amazing:,

Like my title suggests, this game is simply amazing. The gameplay and graphics are melded together in a game that will surprise and amaze you. The first noticable quality of this game is the amazing graphics, done in almost full 3d! This game is a port of a PC game, and dare I say it, the graphics on the GBA are fairly similar. Gameplay doesn't make the game however, and it's the arena of gameplay where this game shines. The game is a blast too play; you have 48 missions, several ships, dozens of weapons, and a superb multiplayer mode also. The missions range from short to lengthly, and beating them all is a ardous but worthwhile challenge. Playing the game is like watching and participating in a movie. The lengthy cutscenes from the PC version were cut out in favor of text boxes, but it manages to capture the same feel of the game. If you like Wing Commander, enjoy space/flight sims, or simply love well made and fun games, this game is for you!

The only game of its kind on a handheld. Fun and good.,

I guess there's a reason no one has really attempted to put this kind of game on a handheld before -- the little digital controls make it tricky to move accurately. I gave it a spin on VisualBoy Advance on the big screen with my full size gamepad, and it's much easier to work with in that mode. This will be great with the Cube controller on the TV through the GBA player. It runs at a SNES-like resolution, except with texture-mapped polygons, so it looks much better than the SNES Wing Commander games, which were based on WC1, not WC5 like this one. It looks almost as good as Wing Commander III on the Playstation One or 3DO system. Sound and music are fine, and the "story" is vintage Wing Commander, albeit told with static text screens instead of FMV or cartoons. This is pretty much just a "dancing bear" for me -- I'm so thrilled to have it at all, that I don't really care about form. If you like space action games, and you want to play them on the road, this is the one for you. I'd like to see more games in this genre for portables.

Good to see it resurrected,

The Wing Commander series is one of the most innovative games in the history of gaming. The original WC was the first 3d space shooter. WC2 was one of the first games to include voice acting. WC3 and 4 had some of the first live action video in between missions, and are still seen as some of the best flight sims ever. Wing Commander Prophecy was originally released in 1997, where it maintained this popularity, but with a new foe and better graphics to it. In 1998, Electronic Arts set another first with WC: Secert Ops, the first game to be released episodically over the web. Sadly, even after all of these triumphs, the Wing Commander franchise fell by the wayside, except for the movie. This is a port of WCP for the GBA, and all of us WC fans are truly ecstatic. The storyline is epic, the combat is intense, and the multiplayer feature will add a staggering level of replayability. After all, 15+ million worldwide hardcore Wing Commander fans can't be wrong.
