5.0 out of 5 stars A must for anyone!
While I was expecting the songs from the actual game, this CD captures the feeling of the game. To be honest it catches the feeling of any flight sim or fast action game. You can play this during any game and it puts you into the mood. 1 of my all time favorite music cds.

1.0 out of 5 stars WHY???
With the exception of Rammstein, this album is a complete waste of money. Whoever put this crappy compilation together took the worst songs of some decent albums (KMFDM for example). I mainly am a fan of electronica and only bought this because it was recommended as similiar to artists such as Juno Reactor, X-Dream, etc. IT IS NOT!!! Yea..It is a biased review but...

4.0 out of 5 stars Good for any space-shooter, July 21, 1998

The music contained within this CD is perfect for anyone who enjoys listening to their own CDs while playing computer games, such as Quake/Q2 and X-Wing vs. TIE Fighter. Just pop the CD into your player and crank it up! Excellent driving beats for all those violent, gore-soaked, splatter-house, quality family entertainent games. Toast that Rebel scum to the tunes of "Stray Bullet," and rip that red team-member a new one with "Mercy." Poppin' zombies is a snap with "Gravitation Zero," and "Cloning Technology," lends a helping hand to raise your blood-lust on Deathmatch.

I first heard this album about five years ago. Ever since then I've strove to find more of this kind of music. Flash to the present and I now own a CD from each band on this comp, more than one in some cases. A great intro to the genre that I can be proud to recommend to anyone.

I love this CD, it captures the mood completely. Although, i wish Rammsteins song would have been played in the game! Oh wel! it still Rocks all game soundtracks!

5.0 out of 5 stars a Techno injection, October 19, 1998

The kind of CD to put on when you need to have music take control of your mind, the title track Prophecy by Cobalt 60 and "Stray Bullet" by KMFDM just explode into your mind. A must have.

4.0 out of 5 stars Wing Commander: the CD!, June 12, 1998
By A Customer
This review is from: Wing Commander - Soundtrack (Audio CD)
I saw this CD on the shelf at my record store one day and I snapped it up because I thought the WCP soundtrack was just a rumor.

All in all, it has good techno music, lots of ambience as well. It captured the mood and the tone of the game effectivly. Although some of the orchastrated tracks from the actual game would've been a good idea.

Also, I've discovered that it takes a bit of work to view the music video on the CD. You can't just pop in the disc and start watching due to buggy programming, you have to find it and run it yourself. Good thing it's a QuickTime file.

Many people complain about the direction the music is taking with the new Wing Commander games, but this stuff will grow on you. (And if you can activate the "classic" WC music in the game, bonus!)
