A mother and her six children are left abandoned after her husband decides he no longer desires to be married. Beatrice, being a young, inexperienced mother with a limited education, struggles to keep her family together as best she knows how until she meets Jeffrey. Jeffrey, an older man, steps in, marries her and becomes a father to her children as well as her niece and nephew, who are placed in her care after their mother passes away. As the story continues, the children's evolution into the world of education, careers, sex and romantic experiences are sometimes rewarding, disappointing and even comical! Will their Christian upbringing be enough to guide them in the way they should go or will they side with the devil and continue on the road to destruction?

Jette Brown really knows how to tell a story. I have a hard time putting her books down. Her characters are real, infact every act is written so well that I feel as if I am right there. I have read all her books and cannot wait untill the next one is published.

Wow! I'm just astonished at how good A Wing and a Prayer was. I'm not usually one for books with too many characters in them because the ones I have read in the past usually tend to drag, but this one! Dang! It had me going from the beginning to the end...I couldn't wait to get a break at work or to get home (my house is finally going to get cleaned and my son fed ;> at least until the next installment of Plain Wrapped Delicacies is released. For now I'm going to nag and nag Ms. Jette on her Myspace site for more pleasure reading ;>

A Wing and a Prayer is a very good book about a family, their life experiences and how they handle them. I truly enjoyed every chapter. I could not put this book down because there was so much going on with each family member. This book had me laughing out loud. It is truly a satisfying escape that is worth every minute it takes to read it. Props to Jette Brown for another fantastic book!
