Another Excellent Book!,

This review is from: The Winged Dancer (Paperback)
I finished reading this book in less than 2 days...I just couldn't put it down! Grae just builds and builds and builds the story around the main character...so many different aspects of this one woman's personality are explored that she practically jumps right out of the pages she feels so "alive" and "real". I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in exploring the dominant/submissive sides of relationships between woman in particular. An Excellent Read!

This review is from: The Winged Dancer (Paperback)
The Winged Dancer by Camarin Grae'When a dying man asks Lesbian feminist Kat Rogan to deliver a coded message to his sister in South America, she is thrust into an incredible adventure. Framed for murder she is sent to Solera Women's Prison where she explores the dominating side of her always strong personality. Later, at an almost surrealistic women's estate she learns about an even deeper part of her own psyche, as she finds herself uncontrollably attracted to a powerful and beautiful woman. The symbolic prize is a lost golder statue. The real prize is a perfect world for women with fully realized Lesbian relationships at its core. "... sets a standard for well-told adventure that also explores women's issues ... and the study of how power operates in personal relationships." Library Journal.' (Summary on back cover.) Camarin Grae's books are fabulous. She is another author for whom there are so few reviews, which mystifies me. They're smart, they're realistically written and they're totally compelling. This novel was really interesting in how women share (or not) individual power within a relationship. You'll like it and, like me, want to read everything she's written. I'm so taken with her writing that I've searched the internet for any information about her and can find nothing. I'm not the only one looking either, lots of feminist groups are searching for information about her as well. Camarin Grae, if you're out there let someone know who and where you are. On the hot meter this was a 6; on the love meter it was a 8. **Remember - if you want your favorite authors to keep writing they have to be able to earn a living doing it so try to buy the book NEW. If you're not going to keep it in your collection put it in the recycle bin to make another book.** |
